It was a great Homecoming Week at PCHS as week were able to celebrate a big homecoming win, crown a new queen, and have an awesome parade with numerous alumni in attendance.
It was also a somber week as one of our students, Caden Chapelle, was involved in a serious automobile accident on Thursday. He sustained some serious but non-life threatening injuries. His mother was also seriously injured in the accident. Both are in separate hospitals, one in Tupelo (MS) and the other in Huntsville. Recovery and healing will take some time and expense. The school will be taking up money for the family each day this week if you would like to give to help them with expenses.
Congratulations to Adeline Hunderman on being named our 2026 Homecoming Queen. Adeline has been the leader of our band for three years, played volleyball for six, and is an all-around good student and leader in our school. Addi James and Alaina Burcham were first and second alternate.
Our football team beat Tanner 53-6 for the region win improving to 4-3 overall and 4-1 in region play. Our volleyball team ended their regular season with a 2-0 win over Hamilton and a record of 19-20. The 19 wins triples the Bobcats win total from last year.
Volleyball will play in the area tournament at Carbon Hill on Tuesday. They will play Cold Springs at 10:30 in the morning. Any student who signs in at the game with Mr. Moss and stays for the entire match will be excused from school on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, we will be giving two state-mandated tests. Seniors will take the WorkKeys and Sophomores will take the PreACT. Juniors and Freshmen will be virtual on Wednesday to free up resources and space for testing.
Friday night our football team will host Sheffield for our final regular season home game. This will be our Senior Night. The Senior Night recognition will begin at 6:30 prior to the game. We will recognize our Senior football players, cheerleaders and band members.
