Mustang Musings
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we settle into the school routine, our top priority remains the safety and well-being of all our students, families, and staff during arrival and dismissal. We need your help to ensure our parking lot and surrounding streets remain safe and efficient for everyone.
Please review these essential safety reminders for drop-off and pick-up:
No U-Turns: U-turns near the bus loop (from either Heritage or Wildcat directions) create dangerous blind spots and disrupt traffic flow. Please use designated turnarounds instead.
Right-Turns Only at Summit View Parkway: When exiting the mobile car loop onto Summit View Parkway, please turn right. Left turns across traffic disrupt the flow, delay the entire car line, and put our crosswalk staff and students at risk.
Follow Staff & Volunteer Instructions: Our staff members and crosswalk monitors are out there every day for the safety of your children. Please respect their signals and directions at all times.
Use Designated Crosswalks: Always use marked crosswalks when crossing the street with your children rather than crossing midway through active traffic lines.
Buckle Up for Safety: Ensure all children remain safely seated and buckled inside the vehicle until you have reached a complete stop in the designated drop-off area. Kids should never lean out of windows or sunroofs while vehicles are moving.
We know carline can require extra patience, but taking these extra precautions ensures that every student arrives and leaves safely. Thank you for your cooperation and for keeping our school community safe!
Visitor Badges/ Raptor App
When you are planning to visit the school, please bring your ID. Our Raptors are officially up and running! Please be patient with us as we work on printing your badge. If you would like to speed up the process of taking your picture you can download the Raptor App! If you need directions on how to set that up, please follow this link.
When it is all set up, please make sure to open the app before you enter the building to avoid internet failure. You will pull up your QR code in the app, scan it on the back of the raptors, ask your reasoning and then shortly after a badge will be printed. Please sign in and out in the red binder as well as signing in with raptor. When wearing your visitor badge, please make sure it is visible at all times while in the building. Thank you for your help in ensuring the safety of all our students and staff!
Late Drop-Off and Early Pick-Up
For late drop-off and early pick-up, we ask that parents walk their students into the school and check them in at the front desk. A Google form will be provided for you to complete, which will ask for your name, your student’s name, and the reason for the late drop-off or early pick-up, such as an appointment, tardiness, traffic, car problems, etc. This allows us to accurately record your student’s attendance.
When picking up your student early, please allow additional time to complete the form, for us to call your student down, and for them to walk to the front office.
With the busyness of the end of the day, we ask that if you need to pick up your student early, you please do so no later than 3:15 p.m. Thank you for allowing us to navigate this new school year together!
