HCS STEM FESTIVAL - THANKS TO THE ECHO LEAHY CENTER FOR LAKE CHAMPLAIN!
The HCS STEM Festival, led by the incredible educators from ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, brought an exciting day of hands-on discovery to our K–5 students. STEM Festivals offer a variety of engaging science, technology, engineering, and math activities where students step into the role of scientists and engineers, practicing critical thinking and problem-solving along the way. Classrooms were filled with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration as students explored new ideas, tested their thinking, and learned through doing. It was a joyful and inspiring experience for all involved, and we are so grateful to the ECHO team for bringing this opportunity to HCS.

THANK YOU TO PiE FOR A WONDERFUL EDUCATOR APPRECIATION WEEK!
We are so grateful to our incredible PiE community for making Educator Appreciation Week such a thoughtful and joyful celebration for our staff. From the heartfelt messages of gratitude to the delicious treats and special touches each day, every detail was noticed and truly appreciated. It meant so much to our teachers and staff to feel recognized and cared for in such meaningful ways throughout the week.
A very special thank you to Jess Mason, Kathleen Rivard, Emily Alger, and Alyssa Lasher for all of the planning, coordination, and behind-the-scenes work that made the week run so smoothly. Your time, energy, and generosity helped create something really special for our school community. We are so lucky to have such a supportive and caring PiE group at HCS. Many thanks as well to Ben and Jerry's, Hannaford and Lake Champlain Chocolates for the delicious treats!

FROM VT TO THE ARTIC EDGE - ASK YOUR STUDENT ABOUT THE POLAR BEAR ENCOUNTER!
On Monday, grades K-5 enjoyed an adventure presentation by Seth Beck of Bristol. He shared his adventures splitboarding on the island of Svalbard, an island north of Norway and only about 650 miles from the North Pole! On his adventures, he encountered polar bears, freezing temperatures and incredible runs on his board down glaciers. Ask your child about his polar bear encounter that made world news!
