Around the School Spotlight
On Thursday, our 4th Graders took part in their Oregon Trail field trip! As always, this was a great culminating opportunity for them and although they were very tired, they also had a lot of fun!
Field Day today was a HUGE success! The weather was amazing, the kids had fun and we had so many volunteers show up to help things run smoothly. Our PE teacher, Mr. Pulfrey works hard on this event and our kids look forward to it every year. Additionally, thank you to our PAC for supporting this day and helping with the organization, set up, take down, volunteer check-in, etc. It really does take a village!
If you plan to move over the summer, or have already made a move, please let the office know as soon as possible. As we are starting to think about class placement for next fall, it’s very important that we know if your child(ren) will be attending school at Hawks View. This will also ensure that we have student records ready to send on to a new school in a timely manner. Any end of year mailings will be returned to the office if we do not have your correct address.
Borrowed Clothing
If your student has borrowed any clothing from our health room, please be sure to launder and return it to the school office so that we have it available for other students in need. We are currently in very short supply of clothing. Thank you.
Lost and Found
Please remind your student(s) to check the lost and found for any jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, etc., that they may have lost. We have an abundance of items waiting to be claimed. Any items not claimed by June 18th will be donated. Items are now located in the front entry area for your convenience. Smaller items such as jewelry or glasses are in the office.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Information
The beginning of the year schedule looks different than it has in the past. Along with some other minor changes, Kindergarten families will be invited to a "Family Conversation" with their child's teacher. The schedule, along with other kinder information can be found at the link below.
If your student has medication at school (prescription or over-the-counter), please pick up any remaining medication from your child's school by June 14th. Any medication that is not picked up will be disposed of. Medication can be returned to school offices once they reopen in August. Please remember that a new Medication Authorization Form must be filled out each year and provided to the front office, along with the medication in its original container. All medications must be transported by a parent or guardian.
Updating Student Health/Medical Information
Please make sure that the SSD Health Services Department has your child's up-to-date health information prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year. Please contact us at healthservices@sherwood.k12.or.us or 503.825.5088 with changes or new information.
5th Grade Moving to the Middle
