MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As we conclude the first quarter, I want to commend our students, families, and staff for their commitment to learning in our virtual environment.

Students can continue to work over fall break on their classes to either get ahead or catch up. Students should be at 50% completion for each of their classes in order to be on pace to complete the course by the end of the semester.

Families play a vital role in this process, and your continued partnership is greatly appreciated as we work together to ensure student success.

Are you behind in your classes? Good thing, fall break is here. Make the most of your Fall Break by tackling any missing assignments and getting a head start for the second quarter! Edgenuity classes follow the QCUSD district calendar, so no coursework or class activities are due between September 29 and October 10, making this the perfect, stress-free window to catch up.

Devoting just a few hours can significantly lighten your load. Students can still get support with the "Chat with a Tutor" tool in Edgenuity for a quick help session 24/7. A virtual tutor will be able to assist you. Students may contact QCVA facilitators, but their availability will be limited.

Students, use your time wisely to improve your grades and cruise confidently into Quarter 2! A little focused work over fall break will make a big difference, fall into pace!

Hello Parents of High Schoolers!

After fall break, I will be starting to conduct the required 1:1 meetings with all QCVA high school students starting with Seniors first to discuss future planning based on a specific set of questions. Your students will be receiving an email from me within the weeks to follow informing them of scheduling a virtual meeting with the counselor.

In the meetings, we will discuss goals your child has for this school year and for their future. Additionally, we will talk about the steps and benefits in planning ahead, as well as any possible challenges reaching these goals. The responses to these questions will be recorded in a Google Form. Once I submit the form with the individual student's responses, an email will automatically be sent directly to that student's parent(s).

When you receive the email with your student's responses, please review it with them, then complete and submit the attached form titled "QCVA College/Career Readiness Parent Verification Form" so that I know you have received this information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you!

Get ready to shine, QCVA Vipers! We're thrilled to announce a brand-new way for our entire school community to celebrate the amazing talents, adventures, and achievements of our students: The QCVA Virtual Gallery!

Imagine an incredible online showcase– like our very own digital museum – filled with all the wonderful things that make our students unique! Do you love to paint, draw, write poems, or sculpt? Have you composed a catchy tune, learned a new instrument, created scrumptious meals, or animated a clip? Are you a master builder of forts, Lego creations, or intricate crafts? Perhaps you've perfected a cool trick, won an award, embarked on an exciting or meaningful family trip, or want to show-off your pet companion! Even your awesome hobbies, special collections, or a fantastic science project can find a home here.

This is your chance to share your passions, creativity, and accomplishments with friends, teachers, and the whole Queen Creek community! Here's how to participate:

  1. Capture the Moment: Take a picture or record a short video of your artwork, performance, creation, award, special moment, or anything you're proud of!

  2. Tell Your Story: Provide a brief description of what you're sharing. What is it? Why is it special to you?

  3. Submit Through Our Form: Families, please use https://forms.gle/sWRHPLcokJuwCyF89 to send in your submissions.

We encourage students to send in as many submissions as they like! Each entry will be reviewed to ensure it aligns with Queen Creek Unified School District's values and character pillars, and all applicable policies- making our gallery a positive and inspiring space for everyone.

This Week's Poll! This Week's Poll!

Get ready for the most important question of the week! We all know a hotdog is delicious, but what is it, really? Does the sliced bun make it a member of the sandwich family? Or does the single, open-faced fold qualify it as a tubular taco?

It's time to settle the score! Cast your vote in this week's poll and tell us if you think a hotdog is a sandwich or a taco! https://qcvacommunity.my.canva.site/

Kinder to Grade 6: Students may request retakes for Assess-Its, Summary/Reflection, or Quizzes from their facilitator through the SchoolsPLP chat. Students are encouraged to attend tutoring when needed.

Grades 7 to 12: Quizzes and Unit Tests are used throughout the Edgenuity curriculum to assess student learning. Students must score 70% or higher on the assessments to progress in the course. The first and second attempts of a quiz or Unit Test can be taken without the assistance of a facilitator. If a student does not meet the 70% threshold within the first two attempts, they will be required to submit a copy of their lesson notes to their facilitator before receiving a third attempt. Students will need to attend tutoring with their subject area facilitator before receiving a fourth attempt on an assessment.
