A Message from the Principal
Casey Families,
It has been so nice to see our students back in the building, reconnecting with friends, settling into their classrooms, and getting back into the rhythm of the school year!
We’ve started the year with some important reminders about what it means to be a Casey student. During our grade-level Town Hall meetings, we introduced “The Casey Standard,” a shared set of expectations that reflects our motto, Fierce Minds, Kind Hearts. We talked with students about making good choices, treating others with kindness and respect, taking responsibility for their actions, and doing their part to make Casey a welcoming and positive place for everyone.
As a reminder, Picture Day will take place on Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th. Students will have their pictures taken during their Physical Education class.
We’re off to a great start, and I look forward to all that this school year will bring!
Sincerely,
Dr. Curella, Principal

Helpful Reminders
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Please take a moment to review and follow our arrival & dismissal procedures to ensure the safety of all students. We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing these expectations with your child and modeling safe practices. Together, we can create a safe and smooth experience for the entire Casey community, including our North HS and District Office neighbors. Please see the image below for an annotated map of the school as well as traffic patterns to follow during arrival and dismissal at Casey. (Click the image to enlarge)
Some important things to note:
- Indicated in YELLOW are the door numbers through which students enter and exit the building.
- The RED X’s around the District office indicate doors that are not used by students at any time.
- Do not park in the bus loop near Door 1 during morning arrival (8:30-9:00am) and afternoon dismissal (3:15-3:45pm).
- Please use the traffic pattern indicated in BLUE on the map and do not stop or park in these areas unless in a designated parking spot.
- Be mindful of the crosswalks indicated in GREEN and encourage your students to use them.
- Students dropped off in the back of the building will enter the building through Door 10. Students dropped off by the 5th grade lot will enter the building through Door 1. These are the only two doors open for student arrivals.
- Students may exit through any door at dismissal to meet their ride for pick up or walk home.
- Please be mindful to not block the entrances or exits to the parking lot. Other parents as well as District employees will need these areas to remain passable.
- Do not stop/park in a space that isn’t a parking spot. This will hold up the flow of traffic. Park in a designated parking spot and wait for your student to come outside to meet you.
Early releases
Please remember to send in a note for early releases, late arrivals, and absences. If you are picking up your child for an early release, you will need to come into the Casey Main Entrance to sign your child out. You can also report your student's attendance by logging into WITS and clicking on the Daily Attendance line on the homepage.
Dropping off forgotten items
If you are dropping off an item for your student, please ensure the item is labeled with the student’s name. For your convenience, post-it notes are available in our lobby across from the green drop-off carts. For sanitary reasons, we ask that any clothing items or shoes be placed in a bag before dropping them off. *Please note that we do not interrupt academic classes for non-emergencies such as drop-offs (sports equipment, instruments, class materials, lunches).
Visitors to Casey
All District buildings, including Casey Middle School, are using the RAPTOR system to sign visitors in/out. All visitors must enter the building at the main entrance on Casey Road. Please be prepared to show government issued ID, such as a valid driver’s license, upon entering Casey. We will scan your ID and issue a visitor's badge to be worn for the duration of your visit. If you are coming to the school for any reason during morning arrivals (8:30-9:00am) or afternoon dismissal (3:15-3:45pm), please park in the 5th grade lot just north of the bus loop.
Final Exam Schedule
Below, you will find the end-of-year final exam schedule. Final exam dates and times are set by the District and cannot be adjusted. We appreciate your support in ensuring your child is present and ready to complete their exams as scheduled.
If your child is seriously ill and unable to attend on the day of an exam, please contact the school by 9:00 a.m. and provide a doctor's note. The documentation will be reviewed to determine if the absence can be considered legally excused.
Please note that absences for reasons such as family vacations, sporting events, or other non-medical situations are not considered legally excused absences for final exams. If a student misses a final exam without a legally excused absence, a zero must be recorded for that assessment, which will impact the student's final average.

Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System program is provided at no cost by Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), a national nonprofit organization. More than 31 million people have participated in their research-based “Know the Signs” programs that includes Say Something.
This program is age-appropriate and evidence-informed. To date, the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System and other SHP prevention programs have stopped multiple school incidents (i.e. shootings), suicides, and gun threats. SS-ARS and SHP have also helped reduced bullying and cyberbullying, and provided intervention for self-harm, drug use, and more.
School Enrollment and Immigration
Rights of and Protections for Students, Parents and Persons in a Parental Relation related to School Enrollment and Immigration
In 1984, the United States Supreme Court ruled it is unconstitutional to deny undocumented children access to a free, public K-12 education. This ruling is still in place today and is the law. The Williamsville Central School District is committed to ensuring students have equal access to education, regardless of immigration status, national origin, citizenship, or any other protected reason, and strictly complies with the Supreme Court’s decision.
The Williamsville Central School District takes all legally allowable steps to protect students while they are attending school. The school has strict protocols in place for handling requests from immigration officials for (1) information about students; (2) cooperation with immigration enforcement activities; and (3) requests for a student to be released to immigration authorities.
Parents and persons in a parental relationship should make sure the Williamsville Central School District has updated emergency contact information, including a list of all individuals authorized to pick your child up from school, in the event you are unavailable to do so. Please contact the Main Office of your child’s school at the number below to provide any necessary updates:
