Dear Coppergate Families,

As we enter February, we have the opportunity to focus on two important themes: Black History Month and kindness. Black History Month reminds us of the many contributions and achievements of African Americans who have shaped our nation's story. It is a time to reflect on shared values, including hard work, perseverance, and faith—principles that unite us all as Americans.

Alongside this, we are also encouraging our students to practice kindness. Small acts of kindness can make a world of difference, strengthening our school community and reinforcing positive character traits. We appreciate your support in modeling and encouraging these values at home.

Additionally, we want to stress the importance of daily attendance as we prepare for the third and final Progress Monitoring (PM 3) testing window for the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). This assessment is critical—it directly impacts our school's grade and serves as the determining factor for 3rd-grade promotion requirements. With just 10 weeks left until the PM 3 testing window opens, every day counts!

Please ensure that your child is at school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Missing even a single day can create gaps in learning that are difficult to overcome during this crucial period. We are in full "crunch time" mode, and your partnership is essential to help our students succeed.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we will continue building a bright future for our children and our school community.

Calendar Revision Calendar Revision

Last week, the school board approved a revised student calendar for 2024-2025 that would bring us into compliance with mandated school hours. Due to Winter Storm Enzo, it was necessary for the District to make up one school day.

Please note that Friday, April 11, is now an official school day. This was previously designated as Fair Day. The District will continue to communicate this calendar change through social media, robocalls, and Apptegy.
