Parent Newsletter - September 11, 2025
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We’ve had a wonderful week at YES, and I’d like to take a moment to share a few highlights and celebrations with you.
First, I want to give a big shout-out to Mirenda Lowery and Angie Bernal. During MAP testing, both of them went above and beyond to support our staff. Any time there was an issue, they were quick to step in, troubleshoot, and make sure things ran smoothly. Their willingness to drop everything and help made a huge difference on our campus.
Another special shout-out goes to Averi Reeves. She has been incredibly flexible this year, stepping in wherever she is needed. On top of that, she managed the book fair with dedication, coming in early each day and staying late on Tuesday and Thursday. Her efforts made the fair a great success!
We also had an amazing time at Grandparents Bingo Night this week! The turnout was fantastic, and it was such a joy to see so many families gathered together. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate our grandparents—we hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.
Looking ahead, Field Day will be next Thursday.
Please check the information in the rest of this newsletter so your child is ready to participate in all the fun.
Thank you for your continued support of YES. We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families.
Sincerely,
Andrew Hohman

Shoes That Fit Fundraiser
A message from Coach Harrison!
Help us ensure every child comes to school with confidence and comfort! Many students in our community lack properly fitting shoes, which impacts their ability to learn, play, and thrive. By supporting our Shoes That Fit Fundraiser, you’ll provide new, well-fitting shoes to children who need them most. Together, we can make sure no child is held back by something as simple as shoes.
Every dollar makes a difference—thank you for helping us change lives, one pair at a time!

Counselor's Corner
Character Trait of the Month
Keep having conversations at home that talk about what being responsible looks like and sounds like at school and outside of school! Our students have been so excited to get to put a leaf with their name on it on our big "Rooted in Character" tree in the hallway for everyone to see! 🌳💙
If you have any questions or think I could be of help to your family at any point-please reach out!
