Dear Families,

October is flying by! The weather is just right, apples and pumpkins are arriving on teachers’ desks, and some (mildly) spooky decorations are popping up. We are so lucky to get to experience the change of seasons through the eyes of our students...their excitement makes everything seem more special and memorable. 🍁 Here is some helpful information for the coming weeks:

MCAS data / information was mailed home for our current 4th and 5th grade students. Please let us know if you have any questions / concerns about this information.

Please join Weymouth SEPAC at their next scheduled meeting on October 18th. All are welcome to attend! Jacqui Porro, Esq. will discuss her family's story, her “Why” for starting her own ABA company and her experience in advocacy and law. Info can be found here: SEPAC 10/18 Questions encouraged! The Boosterthon Fun Run will take place on Monday, October 31st! Please see this important link with registration details: Fun Run Info. Students can dress up in costume, but keep in mind that they will be running in the Fun Run so need to be able to move and be active. Also, a friendly reminder that costumes should be school-appropriate (no masks or pretend weapons, please!), we try to be mindful that our students have different 'spooky-ness' enjoyment levels!

Picture retakes will take place on Friday, November 4th.

Bingo Night will be held on Monday, November 7th in the cafeteria.

Staff spotlight: Mrs. Desmond and Mrs. Manuel! These co-teaching superstars create engaging, meaningful lessons that students love. We are so appreciative of their effort and dedication - thank you Mrs. Desmond and Mrs. Manuel!

Wait until you see the incredible landscaping makeover at Wessagusset, thanks to Mr. Rich McInnes and Mr. Matthew Rountree! The front entryway looks amazing, and will produce so many beautiful plants for years to come. We are so grateful for the effort they put into making the front of our school a place to be proud of. Stay tuned for details on a Wessagusset Rock Garden!

Parent Council Corner

It's almost time for the Boosterthon Costume Run. Register your students early (before 10/20/22 kick off) for a chance to be entered into a drawing to "name the circle". Your child could win the honor of naming the island in the bus loop and be able to take the street sign home after next year's fun run.

Thank you to the Robbins and Faro families who generously offered to stock the teacher's lounge in November. Karlis Collins and family have also kindly offered for December. We are still seeking one more family volunteer for December. If you are interested in providing snacks / treats for the teachers and staff to enjoy all month long, grab another family you are friendly with and sign up for December or future months below:

Save the Date: Bingo is back. Join us on Monday 11/7/22 @ 6:30PM at the Wessagusset cafeteria for a night of BIngo, prizes and fun with your friends. This event is always a hit!

The parent council is calling all bakers!! We are looking for donations of baked goods to sell at a bake sale to be held on Election Day (11/8/22) at the school. Your baked goods can be dropped off at the Bingo event the evening before.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the sale of the baked goods on 11/8/22. Unfortunately, children cannot accompany the volunteers. If you are able to help with the bake sale table please sign up below:

Arts and Crafts and Lego Challenge after school clubs begin this week. All participants have been notified of their selection. If you were selected, please be sure to notify your child's teacher of a change in dismissal plan and bring payment of $25 to the first session.

Coming Soon: Wessagusset and Weymouth Gear. Parent Council will be partnering with 3A Gear to sell hats, t-shirts, bags, car magnets etc. Stay tuned for more information .
