Dive in and see how together we’re building a stronger school community!
Support Our Students
At FGMS, we love celebrating our students! Each week, we recognize a Student of the Week and also give students the chance to use rewards they earn through our PBIS program. See below for the students that were recognized last week. Please consider supporting our students by donating items from our Amazon Wish List. Your generosity will directly impact our students and help us continue to celebrate their hard work and positive actions every day.
We will need items throughout the year, so anything you can do help is appreciated. If you have a business or know a local business that would like to partner with FGMS, please reach out to Dr. Doyle.
A huge thank you to the families who have already donated to our PBIS program! Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to provide rewards such as snacks and pencils with positive affirmations to celebrate our students’ hard work and positive choices. Your support helps us keep students motivated and reinforces the values we are building together at FGMS.
Congrats to our Students of the Week
Wildcat Spotlight: Engaged Learning in Action!
Our 8th grade World Geography students and teachers are showing what amazing teaching and learning look like! From an flyswatter activity, to group work activities that refresh geography skills, students are actively engaged and having fun while deepening their understanding.
A highlight this week come from our 8th grade World Geography students: teams worked together to build a map of the continents and oceans—without a base map—testing both their knowledge and teamwork in a fast-paced challenge. These creative and interactive approaches make learning stick and showcase the dedication of our teachers and the brilliance of our students.

Yearbook Club Interest Form
Mrs. Leuschen is looking for responsible, hardworking students to join the Yearbook Club and help create our school’s yearbook. This is a great opportunity to get involved, develop new skills, and contribute to something special that will be cherished by students for years to come. If you have an eye for photography, a knack for design, or simply enjoy working on creative projects, we’d love to have you on the team!
Attention 7th Grade Parents
Please see message below from our amazing school counselors
As your child’s School Counselor, I am looking forward to working with your student as a support for a very successful year! Over the next couple of months, I have the opportunity to do life skills lessons with our 7th-grade classes. These lessons include topics on self-confidence, decision-making, influences of advertising, smoking/vaping prevention, dealing with stress, communication/assertiveness, and overall social skills. These lessons fulfill the Governor’s requirement for drug prevention in our schools.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me at the contact information below. We look forward to partnering with you for a wonderful year as we teach our students important academic and life skills that will help them be successful!
Thank you for your support,

Maximizing Learning Time for Every Student
Families, we need your partnership in helping us protect valuable instructional time for all students. To ensure a safe and smooth dismissal, we ask that afternoon pick-ups be completed before 1:40 p.m. After this time, our staff are focused on preparing for dismissal and ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
When students are picked up early, even a few at a time, it creates multiple interruptions to the classroom and cuts short the time our teachers can spend supporting every learner. By waiting until dismissal, you help us give each student the full benefit of the school day.
If you would like a car rider tag to make afternoon pick-up even easier, please stop by the main office. Thank you for your continued support in keeping dismissal safe and maximizing learning time for all of our students!
Lockers
Students will be using lockers, and we ask that bookbags, and other items are stored there starting this week. Students that do not purchase a lock will have a locker assigned to them to store their items this week.
Online Payment Forms
To purchase items such as agendas, locks for lockers, lost library fines, Chromebook fees, yearbooks, etc click the button below. You will need to use student ID number.

Student ID Badges
Suffolk Public Schools (SPS) is launching a division-wide Student Identification Badge Program to enhance student safety, improve bus ridership accountability, and streamline daily operations within school facilities.
The program will begin with a pilot implementation in Fall 2025 at one elementary school (SWES) and one middle school which is Forest Glen Middle School. After collecting feedback from these schools, the initiative will expand to all elementary and middle schools, with high school implementation scheduled for January 2026 (second semester).
