Principal's Message, 8/28 Principal's Message, 8/28

Scotch Families,

School starts on Monday!! We are so excited to welcome our students back and are putting on the final touches to make sure the first day is AWESOME!

Please remember, for the safety and security of our Scotch Community, students are not allowed to be walked in the building on the first day of school. We will have all hands on deck, and some additional hands, to make sure that every student reaches their classroom with ease. Please make sure you read through the entire update for important information.

Arrival/Dismissal Arrival/Dismissal

Our carline directions for this year are here, map included. A couple helpful hints for carline:

  1. Be patient, especially at the start of the school year.
  2. DO NOT enter the car line from Commerce Rd, that entrance/exit is for busses only.
  3. Make sure your student is ready to exit, from the passenger side of the vehicle, when it is their turn.
  4. If your student is in a car seat/booster, move that seat to the passenger side of the vehicle.

If everyone does their part, uses patience and follows the guidelines, the carline will run incredibly fast and smooth.

Change in Dismissal Plan or Early Pick Up Change in Dismissal Plan or Early Pick Up

If there is a change in dismissal or an early pick up for any reason, please send a note in with your student with the date, student name, teacher, the message and your name. This will allow the teacher and office staff to be on the same page about a change. We understand that last minute changes may occur, please call our main office with any dismissal changes prior to 3:30 pm. These changes can not be left on our attendance line or via email as they may be missed.

Transportation Transportation

Transportation is provided for resident students who live more than one (1) mile from their assigned school. To help ensure a safe and efficient transportation experience, all students are expected to follow the district's transportation rules and regulations. I strongly encourage families that have a bus available to them to ride that bus each day to avoid daily delays in the car line.

Students should arrive at their designated bus stop at least ten (10) minutes before their scheduled pickup time to allow for normal traffic and weather-related delays. If a student is not at the bus stop when the bus arrives, the driver is not required to stop. As we begin the new school year, we appreciate your patience as drivers and students become familiar with new routes and schedules before requesting route changes.

For the safety of our youngest learners, a parent or designated adult must be present at the bus stop to accompany kindergarten and first grade students at both pickup and drop off. If an adult is not present to receive a student at drop off, transportation privileges may be suspended until appropriate arrangements are made.

We also encourage families to download the BusZone app to track their child's bus in real time. Instructions for setting up BusZone will be included with the transportation information mailed to each eligible family. The district access code is 4079WBSD, and parents will need their student's ID number to complete the registration process.

Transportation information for eligible students will be mailed the week of August 17, 2026.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership as we work together to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful start to the school year.
