Cougars,
This week marks the beginning of three significant events that educate and enrich the lives of our students and community. There's Freedom Week, National Hispanic Heritage Month, and our Homecoming Events.
First, Freedom Week is observed each September to celebrate the founding principles of our nation and remind students of the value of liberty. The week was designed to coincide with Constitution Day, which is on Wednesday, September 17th. This week, our students will participate in various learning activities, encouraging them to reflect on the sacrifices made to protect freedom and the responsibilities that come with it. By studying the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and other founding documents, students gain a deeper understanding of the rights they enjoy today and the importance of safeguarding them for future generations.
Second, National Hispanic Heritage Month begins each year on September 15th. It is a time to celebrate the culture and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, Central, and South America. This month-long observance offers an opportunity to learn about traditions and recognize achievements that have had a lasting impact on society.
Finally, don't forget our Homecoming Parade is on Wednesday! We invite all students, families, and community members to join us in celebrating school spirit and tradition. Come out and cheer on our student organizations and athletic teams as they showcase their Cougar pride.
The parade starts at 6:00 pm at Jarrell Middle School and ends at Jarrell High School. The map below shows the route. Expect brief road closures during the parade. Following the parade, we'll have our pep rally at Cougar Stadium, where we'll light up the JC. Let's make this year's Homecoming Parade a fun and memorable event for everyone!
The Homecoming Game is this Friday, September 19th against Llano. Kick off is at 7:30 pm at JHS Cougar Stadium. Tickets to the game are on sale and can be purchased using our ticket link. Please remember that we have a Clear Bag Policy to enter the stadium. We're including a link to our Clear Bag Policy webpage for you to review.
Let's have a great week and Go Cougars!
