I'm so excited for all the amazing events and workshops you create. Events can be submitted at the link below. The Steambath has been repaired!
Our Beloved Steambath suffered a lot of damage at the end of Burning Man 2022 in the tremendous dust storms that rocked the playa during strike. We lost two full panels, and the door panel was significantly damaged. We brought the Steambath to Burning Man with the intent of using a new structure for it in 2023, but the rains prevented us from having the time to set it up. The kind leaders of VibeCamp invited me to bring it to Vibe Camp 3 at Ramblewood, MD in June, and it took a bit of work, but I got some great support from Vibecampers and we built new panels and fixed the Door. The door Panel was installed inside out, and this is an easy fix. It isn't quite as tight fitting as I would like, but its easy to seal up the gaps with tape as needed!
Vibe Camp Debrief
Speaking of Vibe Camp, we had about ten Camp Contact friends join us in cabins, tents and vehicles at VibeCamp 3! Spacious hosted two workshops, one about Burner Culture and another about Metamodernity and the Liminal Web. In addition to the Steam Bath, Camp Contact brought a 30' dome, which was easily set up (and taken down) by other attendees in a great community building exercise, as well as our sound system that Hazard as so graciously curated over the years, not to mention our disco ball. Overall attendance was just under 400 campers, and there was a clear vibe alignment between Camp Contact and the Vibe Camp community. Prior to the event, Spacious participated in a Twitter Space with the VC team. We look forward to future collaborations!

Love Burn 2025: Realms of the Underworld
Scheduled Dates: February 13-16, 2025
Gathering of Tribes
Camp Contact will be going to its first international event in Portugal, September 11-15 for Gathering of Tribes! We will provide a shelter to host events in, and there is a shared kitchen on site. The purpose of the Gathering of Tribes is to strengthen the regenerative ecosystem, its tribes and the connections between them by creating a time to gather in nature, celebrate, building a culture of meaningful dialogue, mutual learning, peer support and connecting for action. Humanity is in the depth of a metacrisis, on the verge of a great transformation. Where do we want this transformation to take us? The tribes, -- companies, communities, villages, DAOs, of the regenerative ecosystem are building a new society, a new relationship to the Earth. How can we support their growth and scale their impact? This event also doesn't have any additional dues, only the ticket price. Please sign up for camp and follow the instructions on the site.
Camp Contact Container from DC to BRC now open for Reservations!
We're getting ready for another Container to the Playa in 2024 thanks to support from our trusty driver Rusty, our Container coordinator Jessica, and a great load in location that we hope to return to! We are hoping to coordinate drop of points in Richmond and Philly again, using our other trailers to move gear from these locations to the main drop off point, please reach out to container@campcontact.org if you can help! Here's our Facebook Event!
We're on the Map! The Authentic Relating Map that is!
Authentic Revolution has put together a map of the various Authentic Relating communities around the world, and Camp Contact is listed in their directory for Black Rock City, Nevada! We're looking forward to a great week of Circling and Authentic Relating this year, thanks to our curator, Nick Irons who is gathering many workshops! One of our Sister Camps, Metamodern Magicians, will be hosting the Authentic Relating track in their dome, right next to us as we collaborate with them at BRC this year.
Metamodern Magicians
Cold Yogis
Cold Yogis, also a pod of Camp Contact for many years, is coming on strong this year at Burning Man with an estimated population of 50! They'll have their own kitchen and shade, and be a self sufficient camp right next to Contact at 6:30 and Enchant! Along with their standard offerings of breathwork and cold showers, word has it they'll be bringing a Slack line!

Future of Camp Contact
Nic Garner (aka Blank) writes:
I have something I have been thinking about for a while,
As we look back on our journey with Camp Contact and ponder its future, I've been thinking deeply about what it means to be part of this vibrant community that Darrell has brought us into. His vision has guided us here, and now it's our turn to think about what comes next.
Community Vision: How do you envision carrying forward the work Darrell started? Which aspects of the burner experience and our community's principles do you feel most connected to, and how do you want to expand them to influence broader world culture?
Personal Reflection: What are you passionate about bringing into the world, and how are you currently applying these passions outside of our events? What do you do in life outside our gatherings?
Future Growth: Is growing Camp Contact into a tool for spreading our culture and principles something you're interested in? What role do you see yourself playing in this growth?
I encourage everyone to share your thoughts and ideas. Your insights are invaluable as we shape the future of Camp Contact together.
Looking forward to your responses.
Cheers,
Blank
Additional Info
I have been bringing things forward in my own life by building a business around a mission of channeling consumer spending to businesses that care in this world and working to grow a community that is more physically connected distance wise through my Dream Project. https://goxaas.com which has been taking shape these last few months. In camp contact, I would like to see more sustainability(forming a non profit organization that can operate of revenue it generates rather then donations to subsidies these experiences for all of us and with the open invitation new members to join us. when it comes to the experience we all want and growing its ranks by connecting more people and enabling the creating of more smaller sub-camps under camp contact, bringing together people who are geographically connected and enable them to meet and participate in the default world with a much lower effort than right now. Possibly taking us in the direction of an infrastructure camp that facilitates the growth of smaller geographically connected groups being able to meet up on the local scale and at larger events globalizing shared values to the world and expanding our network and reach.
I was talking with another friend and this is how they put it
"..yeah like i wish that the vibes of this community existed elsewhere. i go to burn parties where i see these people but this issue is that we are all gathering for a very alcohol/dance/drugs centered thing where the positive aspects of burns could permeate regular areas of life"
I my self am tired of having to travel to live in pocket experiences and want to live in a world that is just better at large. To promote a more welcoming and open world over all
Sort of like like what this article talks about here but going hyper regional https://journal.burningman.org/.../brc-torch-passed-to.../
Darrell (Spacious) writes: Thank you Nic for starting this conversation. I too wonder how we can formalize and strengthen the camp as a enduring entity. I've found a lot of support over the years for brief periods of time, and am thankful for the many campers who come year after year, some longer than I've been a part of the original Contact Camp. I've dreamed of a Board of Directors being assembled and starting a Non-Profit entity, and its a lot of extra work to do this. That said, there is a particular opportunity for us to become a non-profit organization with a lot of ease. I see many camps come and go, it is sad that there is so little sustainability among camps. For now, if you'd like to join in the conversation, and/or are interested in being a founding board member, please join our Camp Contact Sustainability Telegram Group
We've lent one of our domes to the Twin Oaks community in Louisa, VA so that they have space to offer workshops at their upcoming Communities Conference and other events over the summer! We had a good weekend in the woods building it over the Solstice weekend. We understand that our long time camper Booda will be at the conference, which happens during Burning Man. Booda may miss Burning Man, but he won't miss our domes!
Camp Contact creates transformational workshops that bring embodiment, awareness, sensitivity and inspiration and offers them at burns! And, we work together to understand and grow in our relationships. This camp is an ever growing network of amazing humans. We are so grateful that, at each event, bonds are foraged and/or deepened. You put the connection into Contact. Thank you for being you! We look forward to dancing with you from the Eclipsing Sun to the Dust.
