From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
We are off and running for the 2026-2027 school year. It is always exciting to begin a new journey with a new, unique group of students and teachers. I am eager to see what lessons and triumphs are in store for us. I will be praying for our students, staff, and families throughout the year and hope that your families will keep our school community in your intentions as well.
Tuesday, August 25th, we will have our SHS Back to School night from 6:30-7:30 at the school. This is a parents-only event. We will meet in the Parish Hall, where I will address the school, give some updates on school advancement and policy, followed by teachers leading individual presentations in their classrooms to cover and answer questions about the important policies for their room setup to help your child succeed. Teachers will do two sessions. So parents with multiple children can attend more than one session. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Please check the school’s Google Calendar to see the adjusted date for our Donuts with Dads in September. That event will be on Thursday, Sept. 17th. RSVP’s and more information are coming soon.

Upcoming Events
August 25th- Back to School Night 6:30pm. Mr. Greer will hold a short meeting to go over the school year and introduce all of the teachers. Parents will be invited into their child's classroom to meet with their teacher to go over classroom specific information.
- July and August Birthday Lunch. If you have a child celebrating a birthday in July or August you are invited to have lunch with your kiddo today. You will sit at the birthday table with your child and be their special guest. The kids love it! Please call the school office by 9:00am to make your reservation (785-242-4297 ). Guest lunch cost is $4.75 and is payable at the time of service. We hope to see you!
September 4th- Trash Bag orders forms and money are due to the office
- Service Wear Day. Donations will go to Children's Mercy in memory of Cole Hayden
September 7th-No School- Labor Day
September 16th- School Pictures
September 17th- Donuts with Dads (this is a new date than was previously published)
September 19th- Spirit wear Day
September 21st- No School- Teacher in service
