A message from the Front Office!
Next Tuesday morning, we will hold our annual Veterans Day Assembly. During this special event, students will sing songs and honor the veterans in our Franklin School community. If you are a veteran, or if you have a veteran in your family, we invite you to join us at Franklin School on Tuesday, November 10th at 9:00 AM. Please RSVP to April by tomorrow so we can plan accordingly. We look forward to celebrating and honoring our veterans together! varricchioa@northandoverpublicschools.com
Once again our Student Council will kick off their first service project with our annual Candy Collection. They are collecting candy to create care packages for North Andover Community Members. Students can bring candy to school on Monday, November 2nd, and “feed the monster” collection box in our front lobby.

Grade 3 Eureka Math Card Games!
3D enjoyed playing Top It with our Eureka Math Cards this week! In this game, students add or multiply the numbers on their cards to find the sum or product. The player with the larger number wins the round! Similar to the card game War, Top It is a fun way to build important math skills and strengthen fact fluency. And of course many rounds of this game included flipping 6 and 7 at the same time!
AAC Device Awareness!
This week, our Franklin community had a special opportunity to learn about different ways people communicate. Our RISE student, Kyle, teamed up with our Speech and Language Teacher, Mr. V, to program one of our morning announcements using an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device. We are so proud of Kyle for helping us build awareness and celebrate the many ways people communicate!
SEL Lessons!
Our Dragon students have been learning about the importance of building friendships during our Counselor in the Classroom Social-Emotional Learning lessons. Mrs. Dulin and Mrs. Kelly have been visiting each grade level to share helpful strategies and reminders about how to build strong, positive friendships. These lessons are helping our Dragons learn ways to connect with others, show kindness, and strengthen friendships!

North Andover School Committee Website
On October 8th, I joined my colleagues at the School Committee meeting, where the committee heard presentations from each of the elementary schools about their School Improvement Plans. These plans align with the District Improvement Plan and the district’s Strategic Plan. Similar to last year, we are continuing our work with the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), including Eureka Math² for Mathematics, Wit & Wisdom for ELA, and Investigating History for Social Studies. We will also continue to strengthen our tiered systems of instruction and support to ensure that we are meeting the diverse learning needs of all students. Our third goal focuses on strengthening instructional practices and systems of support to ensure that every student has access to high-quality instruction and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
