GREETINGS! GREETINGS!

Happy Friday, Gators!
What a wonderful week we had celebrating our Veterans! From our flag ceremony and the amazing 2nd grade concert to our heartfelt Veterans Wall, we hope our heroes felt all the love and appreciation.

A quick reminder that we are still collecting donations for our food drive—so keep those canned and boxed goods coming in to support families in need.

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!

FOOD DRIVE! FOOD DRIVE!

We urgently need your help! Our food drive is underway, and donations are coming in — but we still have a long way to go to support our community.

To boost the excitement, our four brave volunteers are standing by… and one of them will be turned into a real ice cream sundae 🍦 — but only if their class donation box fills up first!

Let’s rally together, fill those boxes fast, and make a big impact for families who need it.

Items needed:
Peanut butter • Tuna • Rice • Canned beans • Vegetables • Cereal • Mac & cheese • Pasta • Canned soups • Ramen • Any non-perishable items

Thank you for helping us support our community — every donation truly matters!

THANK YOU VETERANS! THANK YOU VETERANS!

Monday, we had the privilege of welcoming a few Veterans to our school for our flag-raising ceremony. It was a beautiful day spent honoring and celebrating the brave men and women who have served our country.

A special thank you to Robert Rimer, Dick Mangus, Bill Worbington, Quinn Nixon, and Pam Brunner for joining us and sharing this special day.

We are deeply grateful to our servicemen and women for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication — and for all they have done to make our nation so great.

RIMER LEGACY TREE! RIMER LEGACY TREE!

Dear Parents and Families,

We are excited to share a special project in honor of our very first principal, Mr. Rimer, whose dedication and leadership helped shape our school community.

To celebrate his lasting impact, we will be creating a “Rimer Legacy Tree” display on our wall, along with a beautiful bench and a plaque in tribute to him. This meaningful space will serve as a lasting reminder of his commitment and love for our students, staff, and families.

We are reaching out to ask for your support through money donations to help bring this project to life. Contributions can be made in person or by mail at:

Greenfield Elementary
2550 E. Elliot Rd.
Gilbert, AZ 85234

Our goal is to complete the display soon so that Mr. Rimer can enjoy this heartfelt tribute.

In addition, we will be offering Legacy Leaves for purchase. These personalized leaves will hang on the Giving Tree for families who would like to make a donation in honor of Mr. Rimer or to commemorate their connection to our school. More information about the Legacy Leaves will be shared once the tree is in place.

Thank you, as always, for coming together as a school family to make wonderful things like this happen. Your generosity and support mean so much to us!

DISTRICT ORATORICAL CONTEST! DISTRICT ORATORICAL CONTEST!

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

Dear Greenfield Gators and Parents,

It is time for our annual oratorical contest!

This contest is explained in its entirety in the following attachment from the district. There will first be a competition on the Greenfield Elementary level, and then our winners will compete in the district oratorical contest. Please read the following attachment carefully, as the same rules that apply on the district level will be utilized in our school-wide contest. Speeches should be fully scripted -- and then memorized as written -- rather than extemporaneous, because entrants must be certain their speech will not be deficient -- or in excess of -- the allotted time.

If your child is interested in competing, then he will first compete in a school-wide contest on December 9th, at 3:15 in Greenfield Elementary's library. No costume will be expected at that time, but the speech must be completely in compliance with the aforementioned district rules.

The winners from our school-wide contest will then compete in the district contest in February.

Any interested parties should e-mail Naja Towne at:

naja.towne@gilbertschools.net

Please e-mail me by the second of December with the entrant's name and grade.

Wishing you the best of luck in composing and orating, :0)

Naja Towne

Hey Parents,

In case you did not catch it on the news, I wanted to let you know that there has been an outbreak of measles in Maricopa County. Please see the attached information on the symptoms.

I also wanted to let you know that I am seeing a different strain of strep throat here at school. The kids are waking up with a sore throat, the throats are not super red and no white spots or fever but they are testing positive for strep. A couple of kids have only presented with just a tummy ache and are testing positive too. Just an FYI as I have had several cases of both.

Please let me know if your child tests positive so I can send a letter out to the class.

Wraps, casts, braces, crutches etc. Please call me if your child comes to school with one of these. Mr Wright will also need a Dr. note if your child has been given restrictions for PE.

SIXTH grade parents, ANOTHER reminder that when your child turns 12, I need a vaccine form showing Tdap and Meningitis vaccine or come in and sign an exemption form.

In Health ,

Nurse Suzy and Ms. Sue
