Eagle Express
Dear Families,
Many parents have asked what the November 4 bond proposal would mean for Arrowwood
Elementary, so I wanted to share what’s included for our building. Everything below comes
directly from the district’s project list—these are the plans if the bond is approved.
Enclosing Open Classrooms
Converting open classroom spaces into enclosed learning areas will reduce distractions,
improve acoustics, and create safer and more focused, functional classrooms for students and
teachers.
Efficiency Renovations
Upgrades to building systems and layouts will make Arrowwood more energy-efficient and
easier to maintain, while supporting a healthier learning environment.
Bathroom Renovations
Modernized, accessible bathrooms will better meet the needs of students and staff.
Finishes and Furniture
Updating floors, walls, ceilings, and classroom furniture will refresh spaces, improve
functionality, and make learning environments more welcoming and comfortable.
HVAC and Lighting Systems
Upgrading heating, cooling, and lighting systems will create more comfortable classrooms,
improve air quality, and enhance energy efficiency.
Site Security and Infrastructure Improvements
Enhancing site security and upgrading infrastructure—like parking, walkways, and outdoor
infrastructure—will improve safety, accessibility, and overall functionality for students, staff, and
visitors.
These updates are part of the district-wide bond proposal to modernize buildings and improve
learning spaces across STCS. School bonds are a legal way in Michigan to fund large projects
like this, separate from the district’s regular operating budget for staffing and classroom
materials.
For more details, including the full project list, timeline, and millage information, visit the district’s
website at www.stcs.org.
I’m proud of all that Arrowwood students, staff, and families accomplish every day. These
improvements would help our facilities match the quality, dedication, and spirit of our Eagles.
Make it a great weekend, Eagles!
