Welcome Back Schaumburg High School!! 25-26

From the Office of the Principal From the Office of the Principal

Video message from Mr. Mocon

Hello Schaumburg High School! I hope you’ve been enjoying a restful and joyful summer!

My name is Tom Mocon, and I’m incredibly excited and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Schaumburg High School. As I step into this role, I do so with deep respect for the strong tradition of excellence at SHS and a focus on what matters most: our students.

At SHS, we believe in the power of the experience students have to shape lives. Our school’s purpose of We Empower Students to GROW guides every decision we make. Our purpose, along with our shared vision to be an innovative and thriving school community, is more than just words. It’s a promise that we will create a high school experience where all students feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

As principal, my purpose is to elevate what’s strong and ignite what’s next, so that every experience fuels growth & possibility. Whether it's in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or in our hallways, I want every student to feel they belong and that they are developing into the best version of themselves.

This work is not done alone. It takes a partnership between school and home, staff and families, students and their community. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to create the kind of environment where all students can thrive.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve this incredible community. The 2025–2026 school year is filled with promise, and I can’t wait to get started! Go Saxons!

Teacher Institute Days Teacher Institute Days

Last week, teachers came together within their departments to collaborate, reflect, and plan with intention. These sessions were more than just meetings—they were opportunities to connect as colleagues, inspire one another, and dig into our shared WHY, HOW, and WHAT. Rooted in our school’s purpose to empower students to grow and our vision of cultivating meaningful relationships and continuous learning, this work laid the foundation for a strong start to the school year. As we prepare to welcome students back, we’re energized by the commitment, creativity, and collaboration we’ve seen. Here’s to an amazing year ahead—filled with growth, learning, and connection!
