A Note from Mrs. Phillips
Dear Families,
As our school year winds down, we want to take a moment to reflect on all we’ve accomplished and share some important updates and upcoming events. It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of another great year together!
📊 Wrapping Up ILEARN & End-of-Year Data
Our students have been working hard to finish ILEARN testing, and we are so proud of their effort and focus. Along with other end-of-year data, these assessments help us evaluate individual and group learning progress. This information is not only a snapshot of this year’s academic growth, but it also plays a key role in how we thoughtfully create class lists for the 2025–2026 school year. We use a variety of data points to ensure balanced classrooms that support student learning, collaboration, and continued success.
🎶 Mark Your Calendars: 4th & 5th Grade Musical
We are excited to invite you to our 4th and 5th grade musical, I Just Can’t Wait to Sing, on Tuesday, May 6th at 6:00 PM. Come enjoy a night of joyful performances and support our talented students as they take the stage! Students need to arrive by 5:50 PM.
🍎 Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week: May 5–9
Next week is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, and we encourage you to help us celebrate the amazing educators who make a difference every day. A simple note, small gift, or even a heartfelt “thank you” goes a long way in making our staff feel recognized and appreciated. Let’s show them how much they mean to our school community!
🏃 Field Day: May 14
Field Day is always a highlight, and this year it will be held on Wednesday, May 14. Please send your child dressed for the weather in comfortable clothes, athletic shoes, and sunscreen. If rain is in the forecast, we’ll adjust plans as needed, but we’re hoping for a day full of sunshine and fun! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the 6th grade vs staff kickball game at 1:00 PM.
🎉 Celebrating Our 6th Graders
We’re proud of our 6th graders as they prepare for their next chapter! Join us for the 6th Grade Celebration on Thursday, May 15, where we’ll honor their accomplishments. Then, on May 21, students will head out for the much-anticipated 6th Grade Camping Trip—a day of outdoor adventure and lasting memories!
🏅 Honors and Awards: May 22
Our Honors and Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 22, recognizing student achievements across grade levels. We’ll celebrate academic growth, citizenship, and leadership as we close the year on a high note. The Academic Excellence program is scheduled for June 4th. Selected students, meeting board expectations, will soon receive an invitation.
📌 Important: Intent to Return Form in PowerSchool
Please take a moment to log into PowerSchool and complete the Intent to Return form for the 2025–2026 school year. This form is due by Friday, May 9, and it is absolutely essential that we receive this information from every family. Completing the form helps us plan for next year’s class sizes, staffing, and—most importantly—transportation arrangements. Your timely response ensures a smooth start to the new school year for everyone!
Thank you for your continued support in making Fayette Central a place where students thrive. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to us.
