Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you to our parents and staff that were able to come to Parent-Teacher Conferences at Oakland-Craig last week! It was a great time for staff and students to connect regarding individual student successes and concerns. We encourage communication between parents and teachers. If you have any further questions, please reach out to your child's teacher by calling OCHS at (402) 685-5661 or reaching out on the district's website, www.ocknights.org and clicking on the Staff button to locate the specific teacher.

2. ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT ❓

Please ask your child more about Houses. Houses are designed for students to have a smaller family within the larger school family. The agenda for House Time is as follows:

Monday-All Houses Participate in The Social Institute lessons

Tuesday-Thursday-Study Hall, Grade Checks, and Student Meetings

Houses meet for twenty minutes, but that time serves as a great opportunity for teachers to connect with kids and also ask for assistance with homework.

3. PARKING AND DROP OFF 🚗

There are two main parking and drop off expectations that we would like all OCHS students and parents to follow to help keep drop off and dismissal the safest for our school community.

1). All OCHS parents are asked to drop off students on Davis Street. Families are not to drop off on Highway 77 or pull into the handicap stalls for a quick drop off. The handicap stalls are reserved for students, staff, and visitors that need them for medical reasons.

2). All OCHS students are expected to park in one of the gravel lots that are available to the west and north of the elementary school.

Thank you very much for your help making our school the safest it can be with our flurry of morning and after school activities.

4. MORNING AND AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORTS 📚

Is your child struggling with with homework? Here's how we can help:
  • All 7-12 math textbooks have QR codes and online videos for your child to review key information or also prepare for assessments.
  • Many teachers are available as early as 7:30 a.m. or stay after school most days for assistance. We encourage your child to make an appointment with a teacher, or to check into the office to go to a teacher's classroom before or after school.
  • Tutorials are available Monday through Thursday for all students for half an hour after school ends. Students are assigned a tutorial if they have a missing assignment, but they can also come to the library to work if they would like a quiet place and a teacher to help them.
  • Assigned tutorials are not optional for students to attend. They must have their missing work turned in to be excused from tutorial.
