π The Roots of Doris Hoffman
This week at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we continue nurturing the roots of patience as our Little Indians practice staying calm, flexible, and understanding in their daily routines.
In early childhood, patience often develops in small, meaningful ways β waiting just a little longer, trying again when something doesnβt work right away, or taking a deep breath during a frustrating moment. Our teachers are modeling and encouraging strategies like using gentle hands, calm voices, and positive self-talk to help children manage those moments.
You may notice patience growing at home when your child pauses before reacting, works through a challenge without giving up, or shows kindness while waiting their turn.
Together, we are helping children build the skills they need to navigate the world with confidence, care, and understanding β one patient moment at a time.
π Rooted in Heart. Driven by Purpose.

π€Character Corner
This week, our Little Indians are continuing to grow in patience as they learn that some of the most important things in life take time.
In our classrooms, patience is being practiced through everyday routines β waiting for a friend to finish speaking, taking turns during play, and staying calm when something feels challenging. We are encouraging children to use kind words, calm bodies, and problem-solving strategies as they work through moments of waiting and frustration.
You can help strengthen patience at home by:
β Letting your child help with a simple task that takes time, like baking or planting flowers
π Practicing waiting with short countdowns such as βWe will leave in 5 minutesβ
π¬ Praising their effort with phrases like βIβm proud of how patiently you waitedβ or βYou stayed so calm while waiting your turnβ
These small moments help children build self-control, resilience, and kindness that will support them in school and beyond.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue growing strong hearts and strong character together. π

Spring is such a special season at Doris Hoffman, filled with growth, discovery, and so many joyful experiences. Our classrooms are buzzing with learning, laughter, and excitement as we head into the final stretch of the school year, and we are so grateful to share these moments with your children.
