Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School
May 18, 2026 | EMBRACE THE JOURNEY | QTR. 4 | Week 8
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
This year our family will be missing a mom for Mother's Day. While my mother in law is gone, we have the opportunity to celebrate the impact she had on our lives. As we share Mother’s Day this weekend I want to take a moment to recognize the mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and all of the caring adults who love, support, guide, and encourage our students each day.
Your steady presence, patience, and belief in our students help shape who they are and who they are becoming. Thank you for the countless ways you show up, often quietly and without recognition, to make a difference in their lives. To all who are celebrating, we wish you a beautiful and meaningful Mother’s Day.
Mike
🚨THE MAIN THINGS🚨
AP Testing Reminders
Students should touch base with their teacher regarding specific AP testing requirements in their courses. Each test can be slightly different so that information is important. Here are some general reminders from Dublin Jerome HOSA MRC Team (Julia Chiru, Sabrina Lee, Anusha Paul, and Allison Yang):
(1)Create a realistic study plan: Breaking your workload into smaller, more manageable chunks and spreading studying over multiple days can prevent last minute cramming and feelings of overwhelm. (2)Take care of your body: Make sure to eat regular, nutritious meals and stay hydrated to help your ability to focus as well as increasing your energy. Incorporating short breaks or movement (i.e. going on quick walks) can help reduce stress. Keep a consistent sleep schedule, aiming for 7-9 hours each night, as this is scientifically proven to improve memory and concentration, as well increasing overall well-being. (3)Recognize when you need support: Talking to a friend, teacher, or your counselor can make a big difference if you are feeling overwhelmed. Remember that you are not alone; many students are going through similar pressures, and reaching out can help you better understand the emotions you’re experiencing. While AP exams are important, they do not define you! Taking care of yourself will ultimately help you perform the best that you can.

Important City Update: New Micromobility Rules in Dublin
The City of Dublin recently updated its Micromobility Code to clarify which motorized devices are permitted and to strengthen safety expectations across the community. Families should be aware that mini-motorcycles are not allowed anywhere in Dublin, including on sidewalks, shared-use paths, roadways, or in parks. The updated code also requires all riders under the age of 16 to wear helmets, regardless of whether the device is electric or manual.
Parents who knowingly allow their child to violate these rules may face the same penalties as the rider, beginning with a misdemeanor for a first offense and increasing with repeated violations. These changes are designed to improve safety for everyone using Dublin’s transportation network. Families are encouraged to review these expectations with students and ensure that any devices being used comply with City regulations. More details, including examples and frequently asked questions, are available on the City’s website: Motorized Mobility in Dublin
Spring Sports: Tailgating & Fan Expectations
As we head into our spring sports season, we’re excited to see the Jerome community come out to support our student-athletes. To ensure our games remain a positive and safe experience for everyone, we want to share a few specific expectations for our fans
Alcohol-Free Campus: A vital reminder that Jerome is an alcohol-free campus. The possession or consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited on all school grounds at all athletic events. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our events family-focused.
Representing Jerome: We take great pride in our sportsmanship. Whether you are in the stands or the parking lot, please remember that our fans represent our school and community. Let’s keep our cheers positive and our interactions with visiting teams and officials respectful.
Thank you for helping us maintain the high standards that make our community safe and special. We look forward to seeing you on the sidelines!
