A Message From Your Principal - Un mensaje de la Directora Sra. Fine

Dear Glenn Families,

As you know our Superintendent, Dr. Woods, requested for families to consider keeping students in a virtual learning environment due to the metrics reported in Bexar County. Many of our families have taken him up on that request and students participated in virtual learning for most of January.

This week our Superintendent invites our In Person Learners back! Please see article and video HERE. If your child was an In Person Learner and has been going virtual for the past few weeks you will hear from your child's teacher next week to invite them back.

Additionally, if you were a Virtual Learner and completed the survey for the 3rd Nine Weeks and opt for In Person learning you will hear from an administrator next week to invite you in and to provide you with the In Person protocols, also attached below.

As you know we have had to send out more COVID-19 positive letters this week. We know the metrics in our zip code have not improved at the desired rate, but we remain hopeful that with everyone doing their part we will see a decline in the positivity rate in our Glenn community. We are doing our part by ensuring classrooms are sprayed with a disinfectant mister during Discovery Time and after school on a daily basis.

For that reason, we ask that when completing the daily NISD Health Screener you answer the questions candidly. Students are not allowed to be In Person if they have had a fever (within 14 days of the date in question) unless there is an alternate diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test result. Individuals with temperatures greater than 100 degrees are considered to have a fever and must be seen my a medical professional or quarantine for 14 days. During quarantine students should access Virtual Learning in order to not be counted absent and to participate in their learning. You can find the questions on the questionnaire below.

We look forward to a fun filled month of February! We will be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week February 16 - 19 where students will have fun dress up days and will be participating in activities that encourage kindness. We hope all students, both In Person and Virtual, participate in these events. Please continue to practice social distancing and keep yourselves and family safe! ❤️
