Scituate Rotary Farmers Market
Weekly Update
FREE FREE FREE
We hope that grabbed your attention because this is a week you won't want to miss. The doggie food truck had to reschedule and will be here on July 17. The important thing is they have donated FREE ice cream cups to be given out this week for our four legged friends! The Scituate Library will also be providing FREE books to kick off your summer reading. Lucky Clover Farm donated seedlings to the market to spread their roots in our community. You can pick up one FREE seedling per Family ready to plant in the ground. There will still be a HUGE assortment from our farmers for purchase as well. Many of us, are still in the planting phase with all the crazy weather fluctuations. If you have questions about planting and growing stop by and ask an expert. All of our farmers are more than happy to speak with you about planting and preparing vegetables.
Freshest Strawberries Available
Over 84 quarts of strawberries were sold last week. Farm workers at Salisbury Farm were busy picking to keep up with the demand. Strawberry season doesn't last forever. Don't miss out! Snap peas, garlic, lettuce, Kale, scallions, and so much more.
Local Chicken, Beef, Pork, and Sausage for Charcuterie
You won't find such a wide selection of locally raised meat anywhere nearby. It's great to be able to buy local fresh meat. It is even better to pick up some prepared side dishes to go with it. Stop by and visit Meadow Brooke Inn. They have been getting rave reviews on their prepared food. I can attest to the quality of the beet salad, tropical salsa, and potato salad.
FOMO- Fear of Missing Out
If you suffer from FOMO, we recommend getting to the market early to get bread from Great Harvest Bread or preorder and have your bread put aside. This picture from last week shows Graham "Bread Guy" with just one loaf left and 15 minutes till closing. You can find him next to the Scituate Rotary Coffee Stand. Flowers, Bread, and items from Gourmet Bae tend to sell quickly. Come early but, not before 9:00.
