I will send an IC message if possible whenever there is a weather‑related closure or delay.
  • Please note: Every snow day adds one day to the end of the school year.

  • We are tentatively expected to have our last day on June 9th, but each snow day will extend that date.
Students are expected to attend through the end of the school year.

Thank you for planning ahead and supporting a smooth school year despite winter weather changes.

Early Dismissal Announcements Early Dismissal Announcements

In the event of an unexpected early dismissal due to weather, announcements will be posted on the district website and shared through IC message.

Please be sure that you have arrangements in place for your child should this occur.

Important: The Boys & Girls Club program does NOT operate on weather‑related early dismissal days.

Thank you for planning ahead and helping us keep all students safe during inclement weather.

    • If your child wears rain or snow boots to school, please send in a change of shoes for use indoors.

    • We go outside all winter long unless it is actively raining or snowing, so be sure your child comes prepared with a coat and hat each day.

    • Students should not wear slippers to school — they are unsafe for the playground and not appropriate for PE classes.

Thank you for helping us keep students safe, comfortable, and ready for learning and play all winter long

    Student Absences Student Absences

Please remember to call the school anytime your child will be absent. If we do not hear from you, an automated call will be sent, and the absence will be marked unexcused. This process is in place to ensure the safety of all students.

    Here are some important guidelines:

    • Each student has 9 absences per year (excused or unexcused) that may be used at any time.

    • Per state guidance, any absences beyond 9 must be accompanied by a doctor’s note; otherwise, they are considered unexcused.

    • Students are considered truant if they miss more than 10 days of the school year with unexcused absences.

    • Students are considered chronically absent if they miss 10% or more days in a school year (this includes vacations and sporting events).

    • Students traveling for vacations will not receive work in advance; assignments will be made up upon their return.

    • We understand that students need to stay home when sick, vomiting, or running a fever — please note that these days do count toward the yearly allotment.

Thank you for helping us keep attendance records accurate and for supporting your child’s success. Your partnership makes a big difference in keeping our school community strong.
