Hoyne Happenings
Hello Pembroke Families!
We are looking forward to welcoming families into the building for parent teacher conferences this week. Your support and partnership is an integral part of our school community. If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please make sure to see the sign-up below. Due to conferences we will have half days on both Wednesday and Thursday with dismissal at 11:50.
During our Respect Circles and Morning Meetings this week we will be talking about showing Pembroke Pride when we have Guest Teachers. Throughout the year, we have Guest Teachers for a variety of reasons and they are an important part of our Pembroke family. We encourage families to talk with their students about how they can show Pembroke Pride to our guest teachers.
We will end our week on Friday with a PJ Day sponsored by student leadership! Have a great week everyone!

Lego & Duplo Donation
Do you have any LEGOs or DUPLOs at home that your child is no longer using? Pembroke’s Library would love to give them a new home here at school! Each week after our Library Media lesson, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students have the opportunity to participate in Maker Time during their library book check out. Maker Time is a chance for students to work collaboratively, think creatively and problem solve together! We are running low on both DUPLOs and LEGOs so if you have any that you are no longer using at home, Pembroke Library would greatly appreciate them! You can drop them off at the front office or send them in with your child and we will get them to the library. Thank you very much!

INTEREST SURVEY: Junior Kindergarten 2025-2026
What is Junior Kindergarten? It's a free, full-day program that bridges the critical transition between home and school by offering an extra year of learning, emphasizing academic, social, emotional, and physical skill development. BPS wants to ensure students meet the academic standards and benchmarks appropriate to their age while providing meaningful context and real-life applications. Teachers are invested in helping cultivate a student's life-long love of learning through these connections.
The program is an ideal option for families with kindergarten-eligible students, born between June 1-Dec. 1, 2020, seeking to benefit from extra time for their child to grow and mature. Are you considering enrolling for Junior Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 academic year? If so, please ensure you complete the district interest survey no later than 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

SOS - Season of Giving
As we head into the Holiday Season, SOS is once again asking our community to support its Annual Season of Giving. The Season of Giving is a district-wide initiative that helps families in our BPS schools that need assistance with purchasing holiday gifts.
SOS is collecting $25 Meijer and Target gift cards through December 6. The gift cards will be distributed to families with wrapping paper and student-made greeting cards in time for them to shop for their holiday gifts. Gift cards may be dropped off at any BPS school front office during school hours.
