TIMA Facilities Update
Dear TIMA Families,
We are writing to share several significant updates regarding the future of our school facilities and our continued partnership with the Tybee Island community. Recent developments have provided a clear and exciting path forward as we work toward a permanent home for our students.
A Strong Partnership with St. Michael’s At the Tybee Island City Council Meeting on April 9th, Father Brett Brannen of St. Michael’s Catholic Church spoke publicly in support of TIMA. He highlighted our school as an excellent tenant and a vital asset to the island that attracts and serves young families.
Most importantly, Father Brannen addressed our lease, which currently runs through June 2028. He expressed the Church’s full commitment to extending our lease and supporting TIMA’s long-term presence on the island. To ensure a smooth transition, the Church has asked that we have substantial construction underway on our new building by the time the current lease concludes. We are energized by this clarity and the Church's unwavering support.
Memorial Park Master Plan Progress Also during the April 9th meeting, the City Council officially appointed 12 members to the Memorial Park Master Plan Advisory Committee. This is a critical milestone for TIMA. We are working closely with a professional design team to ensure that our future space not only serves our students but also becomes a cherished resource for the entire Tybee Island community.
Capital Campaign Update Our Capital Campaign team is currently finishing the initial planning study and "case for support." While we have not yet set an official launch date for the public phase of the campaign, we are moving steadily through the preparation stages. We anticipate beginning the data analytics phase by the end of May, which will help us refine our goals and strategy.
Save the Date: May 15 Parent Plugin We invite you to join us for our final Parent Plugin of the school year on May 15. This will be a special session where we will host Father Brannen and a Tybee City Official. They will speak directly to our families about our ongoing partnership and the collaborative development of this project. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand about the progress we are making together.
Thank you for your continued support and for being such a vital part of the TIMA community. We look forward to seeing you on May 15!
Warmly,
Peter Ulrich
Executive Director
