PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Since coming onboard as principal, I’ve found myself often thinking about how proud I am of students at Chapin Middle School. CMS Eagles shine in so many areas, from academic accomplishments in the classroom to the way they treat one another. The Administrative Team has received many positive referrals for students this year, and it is great to see our teachers recognizing students for making good choices, demonstrating leadership, and going above and beyond. This is the core of what makes our school community special.
Clash of Crews - the foundation of PBIS at CMS this year - is in full swing, and the energy of the friendly competition between Crews (homerooms) for points have been fantastic. I love seeing our students have fun at school just by doing the right thing - turning in assignments on time, demonstrating positive behavior, and attending school regularly.
Students from Chapin Middle School who go to Crooked Creek Park after school must either be enrolled in the Safari Afterschool Program or accompanied by a parent/guardian or other responsible adult. Unsupervised students are not permitted in the park during or directly after school hours. This helps ensure the safety and well-being of all park visitors and program participants. Parents may not pick up or drop off students for school at Crooked Creek Park.
The first nine weeks ends Thursday, October 15. As we approach the end of the grading period, please take a moment to check in with your student about their academic progress. If you have any questions or concerns about your student's classroom performance, reach out to their teachers. We want to partner with you and address concerns early so that every student has the opportunity to finish the quarter strong.
A well-deserved long weekend is coming! Fall Break is October 9–12. I hope our students, families, and staff enjoy some time to relax and recharge. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed on Tuesday, October 13
Remember that Wednesday, October 14, is a Late Start day. Everything will be pushed back one hour, and doors will open to students at 8:30 am on Wednesday. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for your morning routine.
With the cooler temperatures arriving, we know students are excited to break out their cozy clothes. As a reminder, however, pajamas, hats, and bedroom slippers are not part of our school dress code. We appreciate your help in making sure students come to school dressed appropriately for learning each day.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us and for supporting our students. There is so much to be proud of right now. I am grateful to be part of a school community where our students are growing, learning, and making positive choices.
Kind regards,
Principal Unversaw
