Hello, April!

April is here, and we couldn’t be more excited—it’s the month Julia Whelan is coming to our library! To celebrate, our Listening Lounge will feature two novellas narrated by Julia Whelan: Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid and Grown Up by Gillian Flynn.

This month we're also raising a teacup to Jane Austen’s 250th birthday with A Cup of Tea and A Dash of Darcey, and launching a four-week introduction to American Sign Language. Plus, mark your calendars for May when we kick off Fellowship of the Fit, a Lord of the Rings-themed fitness challenge for all ages and abilities at Ellis Park.

There's something for everyone this month—join us!

Did you guess the answer?! It's Julia Whelan!!

Julia Whelan is a powerhouse in the literary world, an acclaimed author, narrator, screenwriter, lifelong actor, and winner of multiple awards. She's coming here to Hendricks County! Julia will join us for an author talk, perform a live reading, take audience questions, and stay for a book signing.

If you enjoy audiobooks, you've certainly heard her voice bringing the story to life, as Julia has narrated over 600 audio books for authors such as Emily Henry, Kristen Henry, Taylor Jenkins Reid, V.E. Schwab, and Abby Jimenez, just to name a few! One of Julia's own books, My Oxford Year, will soon be released as a Netflix movie starring Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest!

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to hear from the voice behind your favorite stories. This event is free to attend, but tickets are required for entry. This event is open to all; no library card is required, and residents from across Hendricks County and beyond are welcome. Visit dplindiana.org/events to learn more and to register.
