Director's Note

Hello Hawk Choir, Parents/Guardians, and Supporters!

We have hit the ground running with our annual Hawk Choir Camp Retreat at MO Ranch! These students worked hard to plan and prepare for what will be a banner year for the Hawk Choir Program!

We are getting closer to Hawk Choir Camp!

August 4-6 in the HHS Music Building Choir Room from 4:00-7:00.

This will be a great time for our Hawk Choir Family to come together as they re-connect with veterans students, but more importantly, meet our new students to the choir program! We will sing, sight-read, learn some music, and play games to better acquaint us and prepare us for the school year. Parents/Guardians, are encouraged to fill out THIS FORM so that we have a good idea as to how many students to expect.

The HHS TMEA Choral Workshop will take place August 10-11, from 1:30-3:30 PM in the Choir Room and is open to all students participating in the TMEA ALL STATE AUDITION PROCESS.

Parents/Guardians! We need your help! Our formal uniforms for the Hawk Choir still need to be cleaned. There is an industrial washer/dryer in the Music Building but we need people to was the uniforms. We will not be able to issue uniforms until they have been cleaned and re-racked in the Choir Storage Room. If you have time to help with this, please reach out to Mr. Flores at floresc@g.hayscisd.net and we can set day(s)/time(s).

I want to take a moment and encourage you (Parents/Guardians) to become a member of the Hays Hawk Choir Boosters! This group of parents, guardians, and adults supporting the Hawk Choir Program do everything from fundraising, being chaperones, helping with concerts and social events, and so much more! There will be an opportunity for you to become a Hays Hawk Choir Booster at our first parent meeting September 1st, at 7:00 PM, in the Choir Room.

Private Voice Teachers

Private Lessons are a great way for students to improve individually. We have great private lesson instructors in the Hawk Choir Program. As soon as I am able, I will introduce our voice teacher for this school year.

Students who need help with their music can make an appointment with me by email (floresc@g.hayscisd.net). Tutoring can be done one on one or in a group.

Please request your tutorial time at least 1 day out so that I can check my availability.

During the second nine-weeks, I will not be available before school (AM Duty) on BLUE DAYS.
