Nash Sunday Smores

September 6, 2026
Hello Nash Families,
Hello Families,
What a great two days back to school! It was so exciting to see all those amazing smiles as students entered Nash this week. The atmosphere was filled with joy and enthusiasm, setting a positive tone for the year ahead. We will be sharing lots of updates through this weekly letter, so please be sure to read through it to stay informed about what’s new. Just a reminder not to come onto school grounds until 8:50. Thank you all for your patience these past couple of days as we navigate the start of the school year together!

Attendance Matters
We will be focusing on how to support our families and make sure our students are attending school regularly. We will be working alongside you in order to make sure all supports are in place so our students have a successful school year.
Dismissal Sheet
Next week, all students will receive a dismissal sheet that we will be asking you to fill out. That dismissal sheet will be followed unless you contact the teacher or office regarding the change. We ask that no changes in dismissal to be made after 3:00 unless it is an emergency. We also ask that if you change your child's attendance for Champions or Stars, that you also inform the school of these changes. If we are not informed by the parent, we will continue to follow the form you filled out for us. More information will be coming out Tuesday. Just another way to make sure all students are safe and go where expected at dismissal. Thank you!
Please do not line up for drop off until 8:50am. Thank you so much!
Arrival Procedure
- Drop off line will begin at 8:50. We ask that families do not line up any earlier. This will cause traffic to back up into route 18, which will cause a traffic issue.
- Please pull all the way up as noted on the diagram provided.
- No one should pass any other vehicles on the left and stay in line even if their child has left the vehicle. This is because students exit from each side of vehicles and we want them safe from cars.
- If you pull up and come to a stop along the sidewalk, please exit your child there. This allows a quick exit and traffic to move quickly.
- You do not need to pull up to the door, their are staff and sidewalks to safely guide students to the door.
- We ask that no adults exit car in the line to assist in getting a student out. If your child struggles to get out of the car seat, please continue to pull through the line and park. This allows you extra time and you may walk them to the front door. (And sneak in another hug goodbye)
We will be out there assisting all families. We thank you all for your patience the next few days as our new families learn the routines.

Dismissal
Please refer to the link below to see where your students classroom will be dismissed.
All those that would like to use the playground, please park on the perimeter. The rest may line up in rows. We ask that all cars wait for clearance to leave. It can be dangerous with foot traffic walking through.
Parking will be tight with an additional classroom added soon.
Reminder that the Stetson Building kindly ask us not to park there, Our elderly frequent that building and we have to be cautious and careful as they drive and walk through that parking lot.

Class Assignments
Classes are created with a great deal of thought and consideration based on the needs of all our students. We hope this provides a safe and supportive environment for all our students.
Parent Council is looking for more people to join.

Classroom Snack Updates
Due to the safety of students with allergies, we asked that all students bring only ONE snack during classroom snack break. When each student brings in just one snack, it is easier for us to make sure the snack is safe for classmates.
Examples: piece of fruit, bag of goldfish, granola bar, gogurt
Please avoid snack that require utensils or more than one thing.
Thank you!

Important Message about our Playground
Please read this important note regarding the playground:
Consistency is so important for our students that we find it important to share with you our playground expectations that we provide to the students during the school day.
We hope this carries over to after school and beyond:
Everyone plays – Every game is open to whoever wants to play as long as those playing are being safe, respectful and responsible during the game. Including others are expected behaviors.
Play safe – Students must play so that they and others are not physically or emotionally hurt. Students must avoid rough play, unsafe play, and name-calling. Examples of unsafe play include jumping from the top of the play structure or sliding into someone still on or near the end of the slide
Be Respectful- Students will listen and follow directions. They will be kind and provide other students an opportunity to use the play structure. Keep hands and feet to themselves.
Have fun and enjoy!

To ensure students have access to
food over the weekend...
Teachers and staff will pack a food bag for participating
students and place it in their locker on Friday morning.
Bags include items such as juice boxes, granola bars,
mac & cheese cups, goldfish crackers, and milk. The
menu will vary weekly. Children can pick up their
backpack bag when they leave school on Friday. These
bags are free, open to all students, and sponsored by
the Weymouth Food Pantry.
