Principal's Weekly Update

A Message from Dr. Enrique
Dear St. Mary’s Families,
What a wonderful time to be a Catholic school educator and leader! This past week, our amazing students in grades K2 through Grade 8 participated in the MAP Growth Test in subjects such as Mathematics, Reading, and Language Usage, depending on their grade level. MAP Growth Testing occurs up to three times per year and helps teachers and families see specific areas where students need support. Final results will be sent home with your child with their Trimester 3 report card. Thank you for supporting the school in ensuring your child consistently arrives on time and is present each day. Yesterday, Dr. Nadjarian and I had the opportunity to advocate for our school and other non-public schools in Massachusetts at the State House in Boston. The Massachusetts chapter of CAPE, the Council for American Private Education, hosted an Advocacy Day in which school and district leaders, educators, students, legislators, and community members spoke about the importance of a faith-based education and having that option for all families. It was an inspiring experience, especially as our own Grade 3 through Grade 5 students were at the State House for their Spring field trip. Today, teachers worked together to map curriculum aligning with our Academic Strategic Plan. It was a fruitful week for all! I hope you enjoy the weather this weekend. Thank you for keeping a close eye on emails and the calendar in these last weeks of school, full of celebrations and special events!

Crowning of Mary
We celebrated one of St. Mary’s most cherished traditions, our May Crowning in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During our Monday morning parking lot prayers, students crowned the statue of Mary with fresh flowers, showing their love and devotion during this special month dedicated to her. Every student also brought a flower to place by her side. Our may crowning felt even more special with so many parents joining us in prayer and reflection. A special thank you to Fr. David for leading us in prayer and blessing our families as well as Mr. Lynch for playing beautiful hymns on the piano. Thank you also to everyone who came and helped make our parking lot prayers so beautiful!
