Students and parents, don't miss the Lakeville South High School College Fair on Wednesday, February 26 from 6:15 - 7:45 p.m. With over 100 representatives from a variety of colleges, universities, community colleges, technical colleges, and military branches, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore your options and connect with schools—all in one place. Take advantage of this convenient event to gather information, ask questions, and start planning your future.

Once you register, you will receive a barcode. During the fair, colleges will scan your barcode to send you more information about their schools. ⭐ Schools attending the LSHS College Fair 2-26-2025 ⭐

Congratulations to both South Alpine JV teams for their 2025 South Suburban Conference (SSC) JV Championship Races on Thursday, February 6 at Buck Hill. The girls team placed 3rd overall with 51.0 points, just behind the Eagan/Eastview Co-op team. Individual results:

• 5th place: Ellie Oujiri - 8th grade, MMS
• 18th place: Marina Borkovic - 7th grade, MMS
• 22nd place: Ludovica Medici - 11th grade, foreign exchange student
• 24th place: Georgia Saaranen - 7th grade, MMS
• 27th place: Aubry Ostlie - 7th grade, MMS
• 29th place: Darby Schreiner - 11th grade

The boys team finished 3rd overall with 102.0 points, just 5 points behind the Eagan/Eastview Co-op Team. Leading the way for the Cougars:

• 1st place! Walter Anderson - 8th grade, MMS - finished as your 2025 Boys JV Champion with a combined time of 54.29 seconds! HUGE congratulations to Walter!
• 11th place: Collin Wellcome - 9th grade
• 14th place: Avern Lin - 11th grade
• 16th place: Senior Chase Pangburn
• 29th place: Alern Lin - 9th grade

Congratulations to both South Alpine Varsity Teams for their 2025 South Suburban Conference (SSC) Section 6 Alpine Championship Races. The girls results:

• 7th place: Brenna Peltz - 10th grade (combined time of 49.33 seconds) * State qualifier!
• 13th place: Senior and Team Captain Silje Grasdal (combined time of 52.39 seconds) *State qualifier!

For the boys, the team finished 3rd overall - just .5 of a point behind Rosemount! Individual results:

• 2nd place: Cole Peltz - 9th grade (combined time of 42.97 seconds - just .27 seconds off the winner) *State qualifier!
• 4th place: Junior Team Captain Jack Olson (combined time of 44.20 seconds) *State qualifier!
• 20th place: Skogen Scharrer - 10th grade
• 33rd place: Owen Healy - 10th grade
• 36th place: Lucas Loger -10th grade
• 49th place: Mason Miller - 10th grade

The State Tournament at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN will take place on Tuesday, February 11. Go Cougars!

“The Squad” wrapped up the SSC Championship with a dub over Eagan! Both Varsity and JV finished the conference schedule undefeated! This marks back-to-back-to-back-to-back Conference Championships in the last four years! Next up, the Section 1AA Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Farmington High School. Best of luck Cougars!!

The Cougar Dance Team has earned a trip to the state tournament in both Jazz and High Kick. They will compete at the MSHSL State Tournament, which begins at 2 PM on Friday, February 14th. This is an exciting opportunity for the team to showcase their talent on a statewide stage. Best of luck to the Cougars as they compete for top honors!

On Wednesday, February 5, four Lakeville South High School student-athletes were honored during a National Signing Day ceremony. The students, joined by family, friends, and coaches, gathered in the Lakeville South Performance Gym to celebrate their commitment to playing collegiate athletics at the Division I or Division II level.

On Friday, Feb. 7, the cast and tech crew of Henry V attended the the One Act Play State Festival at O’Shaughnessy Auditorium in the campus of St Catherine University. Their stellar performance earned them a Star Performance award! Congratulations to the cast and tech crew for finishing on top!

There will be a boys tennis meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11 during WIN Time 9:54-10:24 AM. Students who are interested, please sign up for Mr. Kohel's WIN Time or stop by Room C305.

Spanish Club will be making fresh guacamole and eating salsa y chips. We will also have horchata!

Now announcing auditions for our spring musical, Singin’ in the Rain! Auditions will be Monday, February 10 and Tuesday, February 11 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Join us on Valentine's evening, Friday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. at LSHS Auditorium for a night of big band classics featuring favorites by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and more! Encore and Jazz Bands will team up for an unforgettable night of music, celebration and dessert! Don't miss your opportunity to see these vocalists and instrumentalists in action as on-stage tickets are limited!

There are two seating options: 100 seats on-stage which includes a dessert bar for $20 (plus a $2 processing fee) and unlimited seats in the house for $10 (plus a $1 processing fee).
