Spring 2026 DCHS NEWSLETTER
A Letter From Our Principal
Thank you!
Senior Events
Spring becomes a very busy time at the High School with a lot of things to celebrate. This especially holds true for our Seniors! On the HS website you will find a tab labeled "SENIOR EVENTS". This tab has all the important dates that our seniors will want to take notice of.
Parking Lot Expectations
One item that I wanted to bring special attention to is our parking lot expectations for our students. This includes our end of the day dismissal from school. We would love to have all parents reiterate the concept to their child of driving slowly and safely as they leave for the afternoon. This is an extremely important part of keeping everyone safe as they depart for the day. For all parents who pick up their student, it would be helpful if you parked in an open parking space. Lining up along the curb creates a safety hazard with the volume of students that have to walk in between cars. Another option would be to pick up at 3:10 after the mass majority of students have already made their way from the building into the parking lot. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continually work to ensure safety.
Tri 3
I am looking forward to a great 3rd Trimester and all of the school celebrations that come with Spring!
A Letter From Our Dean
MCA Testing
We are approaching the testing season with MCA testing for Science, Reading and Math. All 10th graders will be taking the Science MCA on March 10th. On April 21st, all 10th graders will be taking the Reading MCA and all 11th graders will be taking the Math MCA. And on April 29th, students taking Biology 3rd trimester will take the Science MCA. There will be more information provided as we get closer to those dates. All testing will be conducted here at DCHS. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Parking Lot
Just a reminder to be careful when parking and driving in the student lot. Students have been doing a good job overall. As more students get their driver's license, we want to continue with uneventful driving in the parking lot. Please take your time entering and exiting the parking lot. Also a reminder, as the weather warms up, students need to ask permission to go to their cars. They should not be randomly going out to their vehicles.
Thank you!
Thank you parents for your support of your kids!
If you ever have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
From the Guidance Office
2026 Scholarships
DCHS Scholarship Application information will be available starting Monday, March 2nd on the Guidance website for all graduating seniors. We strongly encourage all applicants to attend the Scholarship Program on May 20th, 2026 @ 7:00pm in the PAC.
2026-2027 Schedules
We are currently working on next year's master schedule. If conflicts arise in the student's schedule, we will refer to their alternate requests first. If we are unable to find solutions, we will contact the student to discuss their options.
Financial Aid/FAFSA
You should begin receiving financial aid packages including grants, loans, work study, etc soon. You still have time to complete the FAFSA if you have not already done so. FAFSA has recently had many changes. Please be patient and flexible with financial aid.
2026 Graduation
Students must pass 58 or 60 classes and complete all testing requirements in order to graduate. If you have concerns regarding your student's progress, please contact your school counselor ASAP.
College Visits
The spring and summer are a great time for juniors to start making college visits. Also check the Guidance website to find out when college representatives will be at the high school this spring.
