Brenna Strong – Boston Marathon Fundraiser

Brenna was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer called Ewing sarcoma in the summer of 2024. After nearly seven months of treatment, she was declared cancer-free. Unfortunately, Brenna experienced a relapse in September 2025. Because of groundbreaking research at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber, Brenna was part of the LEOPARD Project — a research initiative that detected her relapse early through a simple blood test. Thanks to this early detection and her incredible medical team, she was able to begin treatment again right away.

This would not have been possible without the extraordinary doctors, nurses, researchers, and child life staff at Dana-Farber and innovative research programs like LEOPARD. Brenna's friend Michaela from the Jimmy Fund Clinic is running the 130th Boston Marathon for Brenna and all the amazing kids at JFC. Brenna and Michaela wanted to do something together to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and help find a cure. What better way than some new apparel!

8th grade students participated in drumming lessons throughout the day and then a Full school assembly with music and dancing at the end of the day. Crocodile River Music in Worcester, MA is a nonprofit arts organization that celebrates and shares the rich musical traditions of Africa and the African diaspora through performance, education, and community engagement. It produces concerts, workshops, residencies, and cultural events that connect local audiences with African artists and artistic practices. Its mission centers on informing, inspiring, and building connections through the arts of Africa in New England and beyond. The students and staff always have an amazing time.
