💌Valentine's Day Info💌

Any Valentine’s that are passed out at school cannot contain any food/candy.

Thank you for understanding. 💘

Valentine’s Day has been a low-key celebration for several years now. Please read the information below regarding Valentine's Day.

Parties: Are optional and under the discretion of each teacher. Not all classrooms will celebrate with a party; some just do activities within their own classroom. Those that do celebrate, will schedule them during their day when it works best for their schedules. Teachers will communicate with parents what the plan will be. No parent volunteers are needed.

  • February 13th

  • There will be a signup genius for Valentine's Day snacks in the near future. (These are THE ONLY snacks we have asked to come into the building.)

A reminder from the office:

Valentine’s that are passed out at school CANNOT contain any food/candy.

In Search of: Empty Cereal Boxes

The third grade is currently collecting cereal boxes for an upcoming project. Please send any cereal boxes with your child or drop them off in the office. Thank you for your help!

Cold Weather News-- LABEL EVERYTHING!!!

We encourage you to send warm recess gear with your children. It can get quite windy on our blacktop! Coats, hats, and gloves are often needed daily! On occasion, students get muddy, so an extra change of clothes is helpful!

When the snow comes, children will need snow pants and snow boots in order to play in the snow; other students will be asked to stay on the hard playground surfaces only.

The students will go outside if it feels like 10 degrees or above.

In the event of cancellations or delays, please visit the District Weather Cancellation Policy

A Note from the Nurse

MercyOne is NOT offering students flu shots again this year. If you would like your child to get a flu shot this year, you will need to make arrangements outside of school to get this done.

Important Reminder for Caregivers: Free or Reduced-Price School Meals

We understand that economic circumstances can change unexpectedly. We would like to remind caregivers in our district that if your household income has changed due to layoffs, unemployment, or being affected by a government shutdown, your children may now qualify for the Free or Reduced-Price Meal Program.

Key Program Information:

  • Eligibility is based on your current income. If your financial situation has recently been affected, your eligibility is based on your income today.

  • Apply anytime! You do not have to wait for the beginning of the school year to apply. You can submit an application whenever your income or household size is affected.

  • Duration of Benefits: Once approved, your student's eligibility for free or reduced-price meals will be good through the remainder of the current school year and for one month into the next school year, if needed.

This program covers both nutritious school breakfast and lunch, ensuring your student has access to meals that fuel their learning throughout the entire school day.

How to Apply:

Online applications are available. Log in to your parent portal at https://northscott.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/northscott.jsp and go to "More" and "Meal Benefits". Then follow the application process to apply for Free/Reduced meals for your household

For more information about Food Service:

North Scott Community School District Food Service
