As we wrap up a successful school year at DCSD Legacy Campus, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our graduating seniors—we are proud of you and confident you're prepared for the bright future ahead! We’re excited to welcome our new students for the 2025–2026 school year and look forward to the incredible journeys they’ll begin with us. Construction has officially begun on new campus spaces to support even more career pathways, and we can't wait to see what’s next. Finally, a huge thank you to our incredible teachers and staff—your dedication makes all of this possible. We appreciate you always, and especially as we head into Staff Appreciation Week!

Have a wonderful summer!

FCCLA State Competition

DCSD Legacy Campus brought ten students to the Annual FCCLA State Conference from April 17-19th at the Sheraton and MSU School of Hospitality in Denver. Eight students competed in Culinary and Hospitality events and two students competed in an Education event. They worked on their projects and attended practices outside of class hours for the past three months, preparing to compete. After competing, students had the opportunity to receive feedback on their projects and performances by experienced industry professionals. We earned ten medals- six silver and four gold. While at the conference they competed in their individual and team events, attended breakout sessions, toured the MSU school of Hospitality and visited their student-run restaurant, and participated in a royal icing cookie decorating class taught by a local entrepreneur.

Nik Wilkins- Silver in Baking and Pastry

Tina Cortes- Silver in Baking and Pastry

Delaney Kaspar- Gold in Gourmet Food Presentation Sweet

Lucy Medina- Gold in Gourmet Food Presentation Sweet and placed third in the state for her event

Madison Sivahop- Silver in Gourmet Food Presentation Savory

Mackenzie Gershkovich and Taia Rassmussen- Silver in Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation

Ella Pomme and Liam Hass- Gold in Focus on Children

We are proud of the hard work, dedication to the industry and professionalism showcased by these amazing students. Many of the Juniors are already looking forward to competing again next year.

Architecture Field Trip

Our Architecture students had the amazing opportunity to take a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel construction site in April to learn about the renovation project underway. Students were able to walk through the construction site which is enclosed within a temporary building to protect the chapel site from weather. They learned about the value engineering process that occurred during the original construction, and the subsequent leaks that caused the degradation of the building. They learned about the care that has been taken to replace and restore each building material to match the original building. Thank you to Martin Rickett and the team at JE Dunn Construction, as well as Thomas Kapels from AECOM architects for providing this valuable opportunity for our students!

Orientation Nights

As we wrap up this year we are also looking ahead and are excited to welcome our new students for the 25-26 school year to Legacy Campus. Students that have been accepted into our pathways for the first time attended an orientation night this week to prepare them for the year ahead. We appreciate the families supporting your students through this process, thank you for attending!

Demolition for Phase II is underway! The remaining exhibit pieces were donated to local schools and organizations, including the shark that found its way up to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Boulder. While staff was picking it up from the construction area, Edgar with JHL Construction helped load the shark into their car. Afterwards they shared "we decided to name the shark after him. So Edgar is now at his new home at NOAA. He will be displayed for thousands of kids to see during the NOAA tour."
