Veteran's Day at Neidig Elementary!
On Veterans Day, Neidig Elementary proudly honored the service and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans through meaningful student connections and schoolwide recognition. Veteran family members and friends were warmly welcomed into the building, where they were celebrated with refreshments and invited to view our “Wall of Heroes,” a tribute created to recognize their dedication and courage. Guests visited classrooms to share personal stories and experiences from their time in the armed services, providing students with a deeper understanding of service, patriotism, and the values that strengthen our country.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all who joined us for this special event—and especially to our Veterans—for their time, their leadership, and their unwavering bravery.
Additional coverage of this event can be found on the district website. This event is also a feature of Dr. Friedman's most recent Take 5.
Principals' Reflections
School-Wide Safety Drill This Week
We want you to be aware that this Thursday, November 20, Neidig will hold a Run, Hide, Fight safety drill. Last year, QCSD adopted new safety protocols for responding to an active threat in our school. Here is the Run, Hide, Fight (Spanish version) letter that was sent out last year.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community is of high priority. Just as we practice fire, bus evacuation, and weather emergency drills throughout the year, we also dedicate time to practice various emergency response procedures to ensure all students and staff are fully prepared.
This Thursday, we will practice the 'Hide' portion of this protocol. We will not leave the school for this first drill. Our approach to this drill is designed to be age-appropriate, calm, and empowering for elementary students. Prior to the drill, teachers will use visual slides and discussions to review the concepts, which focus on specific, actionable safety steps students will take. We will emphasize the importance of listening to the adults, and following the directions of teachers and staff members.
We will remind students that safety drills allow us time to practice, which helps us with being prepared, being responsible, and being safe should we ever need to use the Run, Hide, Fight procedures. Officer Lee, QCSD School Resource Officer, will be at Neidig to help facilitate the drill.
Thank you, and please contact one of us with any questions.
Tonight's PAL Meeting - PLEASE join us!
During Monday night's PAL meeting, several Neidig students will demonstrate their Effective Communication skills, their Self-Directed Leadership skills, and their Critical Thinking skills. Those are three essential skills, aren't they?? Well, as it turns out those skills represent three of the five QCSD Portrait of a Graduate skills, and that is the topic of their presentation. Members of our Student Leadership Council, working under the leadership of Dr. Greenday, will share important information with Neidig families about one of our district-wide goals - Portrait of a Graduate. Please join us tonight, Monday, November 17, at 6:30 PM in the Neidig cafeteria. In addition to this presentation, the Neidig PAL board members will also share important information related to their ongoing support at Neidig.
Thank you, and have a great week!
Scott D. Godshalk, principal
Dr. Monica Kenyon, assistant principal
Congratulations Dr. Greenday!!

Buck IU Mobile Fab Lab
Last week, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit Mobile Fab Lab visited Neidig. The Mobile Fab Lab (fabrication laboratory), one of only 50 in the United States, was created to inspire and encourage students in grades 1-8 to pursue careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) fields. The Mobile Fab Lab is large transit van that transports several carts full of equipment such as a laser engraver, 3D printers, CNC router, vinyl cutters, and a variety of robotics equipment. It also has laptop computers and iPads with specialized software programs to control and interact with the equipment. All classes visited the Lab, and they loved it! Please be sure to talk to your child about their participation in this exciting learning opportunity!

School Counselor News
We know that success in school is about more than just academics. It’s also about building confidence, managing feelings, and getting along with others. During our Caring School Community morning time, we use the Second Step ® program. This research-based program will help your child learn important skills for school and life. Our lessons will cover how to manage emotions, practice empathy, and become great at problem-solving. Please see the attached letter for more information.
Social Media Basics for Parents
This month, we share a new video called Social Media Basics for Parents. This helpful video explains key differences between Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram, and provides great information about privacy settings and other relevant information parents need to know about social media. It is always difficult to find time to listen to videos like this. A suggestion - if you have the ability to listen to audio in your car, pull up this video and listen to the audio during an upcoming car ride. (Don't watch, just listen!) Happy listening!
Do you have a student success story? Know an amazing teacher? Or a staff member who knocks it out of the ballpark? We want to hear from YOU! Share your #PantherPride story with us, and you could be featured in our next #PantherPride Post!
