Welcome Back

Dear MUMS community,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the summer break. As we prepare to welcome everyone back for another exciting year at MUMS, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for this community and excitement for the return of our students!

To kick off the school year, we invite you to join us for an Ice Cream Social at MUMS on August 21st from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. This will be a nice opportunity to reconnect with friends, meet new classmates, and connect or reconnect with some of our faculty and staff.

For our incoming 6th graders, we will also be hosting an Orientation on August 26th. This is a great time for students to familiarize themselves with our school, meet their teachers, and get a sneak peek of what the year has in store. We want to ensure that all students feel as comfortable as possible as they embark on this new journey. A letter was sent home including the agenda for this day and additionally below you can find copies of the schedule.

The first day of school for all students will be on August 27th, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in the classroom! With so much to look forward to, including new learning experiences and opportunities for growth, I am hopeful that this year will be one of our best yet.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Best,

Michaela Wisell ~Principal

Schedules/Schedule Information

Key components of the 25-26 Waterfall schedule

  • The waterfall rotates in the opposite direction this year, meaning that students will always begin the day with the class they didn't have the previous day.
  • In an effort to preserve Band and Choir ensemble practices which will occur daily, Lunch & WIN blocks will be driven by Band and Choir groups. This means that lunch groups are not specific to a grade or team this year.
  • Language Acquisition and Health are on a joint rotation this year. Students will have three quarters of their language and one quarter of Health education. If you don't see Health or Language in their quarter one schedule you can expect to see them in upcoming quarters.
  • To address the frenetic pace during passing time and to ensure students can attend to all of their basic needs, we've added one minute of passing time between most periods.

Student Attendance (absences/dismissals) and Bus Notes

  • To report your child absent from school or notify us of an early dismissal please leave us a message on our attendance line by calling 382-1297 before 8:30 AM.
  • If you send a student to school with an early dismissal note or bus note they should bring them the office before TA.
  • All students taking a bus to another place other than home need a bus note from their caregiver. This note needs to be stamped/signed by one of our Administrative Assistant's in the front office. Students will not be allowed to ride a bus to another location without a note from home that is stamped/signed by the office.
