Happy September! 🌟 We have an exciting month ahead filled with opportunities for our students and families, including parent/guardian lunch visits, Fall Pictures, Donuts with Dear Ones, CCMR Week, Family Literacy Night, Book Fair shopping, and so much more!

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to review our September Family Newsletter for important dates, updates, and reminders!

📌 Attendance & Tardy Reminder:

• Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and consistent attendance is key to student success. Every minute and every day counts!
• Students who arrive after 7:55 AM will receive a tardy slip and sent to class.
• Parents/guardians dropping off students after 7:55 AM will receive a Parent Tardy—a friendly reminder of our start time.
• Students arriving at 8:05 AM or later must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.

The Home Access Center is a portal provided to CCISD families to get student information online.

📚✨ Gifted & Talented (GT) Testing Information! ✨📚
The GT application for students in Grades 1–11 will be available online September 1–November 30. Families interested in having their child considered for GT testing can complete the application here: https://www.ccisd.us/o/ccisd/page/testing-application
🍎 Kindergarten families: All Kindergarten students will be tested October 19–30.

Texas Education code 37.222 requires school districts to provide information on safe firearm storage to the parent or guardian of each student.

We are thrilled that Smith Elementary will be offering childcare for CCISD employees!

If you need childcare for a child between 6 weeks and 3 years old (turning 3 after September 1st), please complete the application and select your preferred location.
