With the potential for federal SNAP benefits to be paused due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, we wanted to provide some information and resources for affected families. Bedford Public Schools Nutrition team supports all families by ensuring free, nutritious breakfast and lunch are available to every student each school day. View school menus here: bedfordpsmanutrition.org.

In addition, please take note of these additional resources:

  • Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline, https://projectbread.org/foodsource-hotline. FoodSource hotline counselors, in 180 languages, can help families find food assistance through other sources such as the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and local food pantries.

  • Vivery.org’s Food Finder Map.

  • The Bedford Food Bank will continue to provide essential support through its three core programs:

    • Drive-Through Food Bank: Thursdays, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. behind the Town Center (Yellow) Building at 12 Mudge Way. No pre-registration required.
    • Home Delivery: For homebound or disabled residents. Call 781-275-7727.
    • Self-Service Locker Program: For those unable to attend the drive-through. Visit the Town Center to retrieve your distribution at your convenience. Call 781-275-7727 for access.
    • The Bedford Food Bank’s mission remains constant: to provide nutritious food and personal items with dignity, supporting the health and well-being of every household. Its motto says it best: “Sharing Good Food.” To support the Food Bank’s ongoing efforts, donations are gratefully accepted. Checks can be made payable to The Town of Bedford, c/o Bedford Health Department, 12 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA 01730. To donate online, visit UniPay.

Finally, please note that we will be providing additional information and resources for our Hanscom and Boston families separately.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if your family needs support. Thank you for working together as a community to support each other during uncertain times.
