BLOCK T
The purpose of this award is to recognize those well-rounded individuals who exemplify the qualities that Tatarian hopes to foster in all of its students, namely: (1) the desire for self-improvement; (2) dedication and commitment in reaching for goals; (3) concern for and service to others; and (4) the willingness to be a positive role model to others.
It is our hope that all students will actively pursue this award, making it a part of their planning for their total school experience. Whether or not the student actually receives the award, striving for it will hopefully enrich and enhance their educational foundation.
Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have further questions.
Community & School Service Ideas for BLOCK T (5 hours required)
At Tatarian we offer:
- Library Help -- students will need to work with Mrs. Beck to find a day and time that works.
- Cafeteria Help -- students will work with Mr. Mario and Ms. Violet.
Community Service (outside of school):
- Help a family member with the lawn, house cleaning or random acts around the house.
- Check in with local agencies such as Assistance league of Fresno, Salvation Army, Animal Rescue of Fresno or the Poverello House.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
As a reminder our students are learning the importance of making good choices and are rewarded each quarter for following our guidelines for success, SOAR. Please encourage your child to show respect, offer kindness, act responsibly and be ready to learn — every act helps them SOAR!
How does our new behavior incentive work?
- Each student has 6 points at the beginning of each quarter.
- For example, if a student says or does something that does not follow our SOAR guidelines, students will lose a point.
- Teachers and staff will always communicate this with your child and parent.
- If a student loses, all 6 points they will not be able to participate in the school wide incentive at the end of the quarter.
- Students will only need 1 point to participate in the incentive.
- Students are encouraged to follow our SOAR guidelines daily by all staff.
