A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
We hope you had a magnificent break!!
I would really LOVE if you could take some time to fill out this survey, it would help me to reflect on my practice and support our students, families and staff to the best of my ability.
Please note that our Summer ASE camp will be June 23-27.
THANK YOU for your support,
Warmly,
Michelle Pitts
Photo Day 2
This is a NEW event and we are going to try and see if there is interest for another round of pictures. PLEASE know that we have done individual photos once and class photos but if you want to show your child's growth, this might be for you?
BONUS: We have sent home a sheet asking families if they would like SIBLING photos for those who attend RES only. Students cannot come from another school and younger siblings cannot attend due to the unpredictability of when we will take these during the school day. We must have this form returned by Friday, March 7. Please be patient as we know this may not be far reaching as far as who can take advantage of this NEW option, but we will try it and if we can't repeat it, that's ok.
Help Wanted!!!!!
We are looking for HELP!!
- We need 2-3 volunteers for "Try It Tuesday" on March 18 in the cafeteria. Please email resoffice@sau50.org if you are interested!
- We would LOVE to have someone help serve in our cafeteria from 10-1 or 11-1 from now until the end of the school year! Please email mpitts@sau50.org if you are interested. It could be volunteer or we could hire too:)

Lunch in Our Caf
We invite one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend. This is an occasional event as we do want children to build independence and social skills in the cafeteria, a perfect time for this!
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Days for family visits are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We do not have lunch visitors on Fridays.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:10-12:35
Second Grade-12:10-12:35
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40

World Language with Madame Piper:
Rhythm Method Band
Mr. Guth's band, The Rhythm Method, played for us as a send off to winter break. We were also so fortunate to have Newington students join us as they are part of our SAU 50 family. We sang and danced and enjoyed music together before heading off for a week apart.
UNH Teaches About Water
Dr. Jim Malley, an Environmental Engineering professor and one of his graduate students from UNH came to speak to third graders about clean water and how he works with college students to build treatment plants. Students determined the cleanest water out of six different samples taken from RYE. through a variety of "tests".
According to Dr. M (as students call him), UNH has helped over 2 billion people drink clean water. He shared a video of UNH students who built a water filtration system in the Dominican Republic. This talk was attended by Mrs. Warden, Mrs. Piper and Ms. Murphy as it blended our understanding of safe drinking water and life in the Dominican with world language, health/wellness and outdoor education. The fourth grade visit will take place March 21st. Dr. M is planning to create filtration systems with the students. What a great hands-on experience!
