All students are expected to follow the School-Appropriate Attire Guidelines. Any student out of the dress code will be sent to the clothing closet on campus to change. Repeat offenders will face disciplinary action which may include a referral, parent contact, detention, and/or placement on a behavior contract.

Students may wear an EBCA spirit shirt or any plain, solid-colored shirt. Collars are preferred but not required. Bottoms may be any solid color or jeans and must be free of rips, tears, holes, and fraying. Shorts, skirts, dresses, and jumpers may not be shorter than the student’s fingertips.

Test results will be sent using ParentSquare and available in the parent and student portal no later than August 31st.

We are so proud to provide our students with an unforgettable Summer Academy filled with engaging learning experiences, exciting field trips, and hands-on activities. Please ensure your students are well rested and ready to start school on time.

- The flag salute on the blacktop is at 7:50 AM, breakfast is served from 7:20 - 7:45 AM. Students arriving to school after 7:55 AM are considered TARDY.

- Dismissal is at 3:15 PM from Monday - Thursday.

- Every Friday throughout the year is Early Dismissal at 1:15 PM. Please make sure to get your child to school on time and pick them up at the appropriate dismissal times.

Board meetings are scheduled during the 4th Thursday of Every Month (except as noted) at 5:30 in-person in the EBCA Library.

EBCA welcomes community participation at Board meetings. To assist you in the ease of speaking/participating in our meetings, the following guidelines are provided:

1. Agendas are available to all audience members at the door to the meeting.
   
   
2. “Request to Speak” forms are available to all audience members who wish to speak on any agenda items or under the general category of “Oral Communications.” “Oral Communications” is set aside for members of the audience to raise issues that are not specifically on the agenda. However, due to public meeting laws, the Board can only listen to your issue, not respond or take action. These presentations are limited to three (3) minutes and total time allotted to non-agenda items will not exceed fifteen (15) minutes. The Board may give direction to staff to respond to your concern or you may be offered the option of returning with a citizen-requested item.
   
   
3. You may also complete a “Request to Speak” form to address the Board on Agenda items. With regard to such agenda items, you may specify that agenda item on your “Request to Speak” form and you will be given an opportunity to speak for up to five (5) minutes when the Board discusses that item.
   
   
4. When addressing the Board, speakers are requested to state their name and address from the podium and adhere to the time limits set forth.
   
   
5. Any public records relating to an agenda item for an open session of the Board which are distributed to all, or a majority of all, of the Board members shall be available for public inspection at 1616 S Fruit Ave, Fresno, CA 93706 or email: info@myebca.com
   
   

   In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and upon request, the Edison-Bethune Charter Academy may furnish reasonable auxiliary aids and services to qualified individuals with disabilities. Individuals who require appropriate alternative modification of the agenda in order participate in Board meetings are invited to contact the Executive Director’s office in person or by calling (559) 457-2530. Please contact EBCA at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to a regular meeting or as early as possible prior to a special meeting to allow EBCA sufficient time to arrange for the provision of such auxiliary aids and services

SLEEP ROUTINE:

• Establishing a good sleep routine will help ensure your child is well rested and ready to learn.
• Move bedtime up little by little until you're at the ideal bedtime at least a week before school starts.
• You can also start waking them up in the morning at the time they’ll need to be up for school to get them into the habit.
• Work towards no screen time an hour before sleep to improve sleep quality.

MORNING ROUTINE:
Visual schedules are great to help establish a morning routine. A typical morning routine will include things like:

• Brush Teeth
• Breakfast
• Get Dressed
• Use the Bathroom
• Make the Bed

PREP THE DAY BEFORE:

• Pack snacks and lunch if desired
• Lay out clothes & shoes: involve your child with this!
• Pack backpacks and leave them by the door
