BEAR MAIL
Friday March 27th
Message from Principal Fippin
Hi everyone,
Spring is in full swing around BCE. It is so fun to see kids out doing nature journaling, playing sports, and just enjoying the spring air. Today the 5th graders challenged the teachers in a dodgeball game. Always a fun time.
Parent survey- We have till 5pm tonight to complete the survey. So if you haven't done it yet, please do so NOW!!
Thank you to all that supported with Family Art Night!! - it was a big success. We just love seeing everyone come out and support the arts.
Registration- If you know any new bears that might want to join us at BCE next year, please come into the office. The earlier we know the better so we can prepare for all our newest friends.
We have one more week till Spring Break. Only 5 more sleeps :)
Gerri Fippin,

We had an exciting recess today with our annual Teachers vs. 5th Grade Dodgeball Game. In a very competitive match, the 5th graders came out on top! Students showed excellent teamwork and had positive attitudes throughout the game. It is always a great way to continue building a strong sense of community. We’re proud of BCE students for showing such positive behavior both on and off the court!

We are the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teachers and Instructional Aides form Boulder Creek Elementary School, and we are so excited to welcome new learners!! If you have a child who will turn 4 before September 1st, they are eligible for TK and we are happy to enroll them!!
Tk is a wonderful bridge between preschool and kindergarten. Our classrooms focus on social emotional growth, early literacy and math skills, and lots of hands-on, play-based learning in a a positive and nurturing environment. Best of all it's part of the public school system- so it's free!
If you're still deciding between preschool and TK or have any questions about TK, please email us or call the BCE Office at 831-338-6413. We love helping families make the best decision for their little ones.
Look forward to a great year of learning and growing together!!

Building Resilience Through Games
As you know, our life skill of the month is RESILIENCE! A fun way to practice this skill is through playing games at home. Here are a few simple games you can try at home:
- Board games: Help children practice patience, flexible thinking, and coping with winning and losing.
- Puzzle challenges: Encourage persistence and teamwork—try working together and celebrating progress along the way.
- “Would You Rather?” or problem-solving games: Build flexible thinking and creativity.
- Obstacle courses: Great for practicing perseverance and a “keep going” mindset.
As you play, model positive language like, “That was tricky, but I’ll try again,” or “I didn’t win this time, but I had fun playing.” These small moments help children build confidence, adaptability, and resilience that carry over into school and everyday life.
Have fun!
Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
