SALISBURY COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Weekly Newsletter 11/7/25
Hello and happy Friday!
It was a roller coaster of a week due to the time change throwing us for a loop, and the post-Halloween let-down. There are so many instances each week, however, where students impress me for their kindness, understanding, and perseverance. They are working hard and doing their best. They are learning new skills, building content knowledge, and practicing inquiry and problem solving all day long. School is hard, and they're doing it.
We have two more weeks until the Thanksgiving break. There are some field trips, an Open House in 3rd grade, and many opportunities for community building and new experiences. Thank you for continuing to be a part of your child's education. I look forward to the second quarter of our year.
Have a nice weekend,
Tracey
The Week in Photos
Kindergarteners were finishing up their Monster Art this week in class.
Third graders participated in a virtual meeting with a Senior Exhibits Graphic Designer in preparation for their Open House on 11/20. They learned some tips for how to prepare their museum as a culmination of the unit Where We Are In Place and Time.
Last Friday, Ms. Clapp shared some Witchcraft and Wizardry with the 4th graders --or, what some preferred to call, SCIENCE!
Our Fall Foliage Festival was a big success last Friday, and the pictures were taken after the newsletter was nearly complete, so I'm including them here. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who helped run the activities --and to Salisbury Fire Department for sharing fire safety tips!

Notepad for communicating changes in student arrival/dismissal plans
Thank you to those who have used their Green Notepad to communicate CHANGES in your child's arrival or dismissal plans. Things seem to be going very well so far!
Parent Input from Quarter 1
Please complete this short feedback form about how the first quarter of the year has gone. Parent-teacher conferences are a nice opportunity to discuss specifics to your child's progress in class, but it would also be nice to know how the year is going overall. On the form you can let Tracey know if you would like to connect in person, virtually or by phone as well. Thank you.

Bridport and Shoreham Grade Configuration Design Feedback
Last fall, Superintendent Baker held meetings with Bridport & Shoreham teachers and families to review student performance data and discuss how best to support greater academic success. This summer a working group of Bridport and Shoreham families formed a working group to help design a K-5 single-grade model at one school for the Board to consider for the 2026-27 year.
We now invite our ACSD community to offer feedback using this community survey which includes an overview of the Working Group’s design. All community feedback will be shared with the ACSD Board on November 10th. The Board will review the final design and all feedback in November to determine the 2026-2027 path forward for Bridport & Shoreham students.
