Updates for Remote Learning
Mill Creek Intermediate
Message from Admin
Dear Caregivers,
Good morning! Due to the expected weather, today will be a Remote Learning Day. We recognize that most students do not currently have access to their BCS-issued iPads, as devices were not sent home over the weekend. If your child is able to access a device, teachers will share Microsoft Teams meeting links through Schoology so students can join their class sessions. The links are posted under the Homeroom course on Schoology. You can access this link using a parent's account or a student's account. The Remote Learning Day schedule is also shared below. However, we understand that not every student will be able to log in today. If your child is unable to participate online, that is okay. We have posted activities below that students can complete. Students will also be able to bring their devices home on Tuesday and may complete any remaining work on Wednesday if needed.
To summarize:
- If a student is unable to log in on to the Teams meeting for remote learning and/or access Schoology to do assigned work, we will make it extremely feasible for the student to be counted as present by completing the assignments posted below. These assignments can either be printed if students cannot access Schoology or downloaded digitally and uploaded to Schoology on Tuesday. If your child cannot access these assignments today, they can complete assignments on Tuesday evening or on Wednesday.
- Students who are unable to join a live lesson through Microsoft Teams meetings and/or Schoology may have additional assignments assigned by their teacher when they return to school on Tuesday so that they can keep up with the pacing of the curriculum. These assignments will either be uploaded onto Schoology or provided to them when we return to school.
- Please follow your teacher's directions regarding all assignments.
We understand that flexibility will be needed, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate the day together. Our goal is simply to keep students engaged in learning while supporting families as best we can. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher via email or Schoology.
Please send a screenshot via email or Schoology to your child's teacher of the work that is completed by Thursday, March 19th. You can also print and submit a physical copy.
We hope that each of our families stay safe!
