Snow Day and Inclement Weather Status Snow Day and Inclement Weather Status

Snow Day one has been used. Snow Days 1-2 will be traditional snow days and will not need to be made up. Snow Days 3-7 will be Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days; students will learn remotely. No make-up days will be required. Snow Days 8-11 will be traditional snow days and will not need to be made up. However, each day taken will result in a required school day after May 22. Snow Days 12+ will be traditional snow days and will be made up at the end of the year, beginning May 29. Seniors: Seniors’ last day of school may be different from the District’s last day and will be announced in the Spring.

Thank you for your flexibility these past few days as we navigated an unexpected early release on Monday and a traditional snow day on Tuesday. A huge thank-you to our maintenance, custodial and transportation teams who went above and beyond to clear snow and get students where they needed to be during challenging road conditions.

This Snow Day, AMI, & Last Day of School message also includes a quick reminder about our snow day plan and schedule for the year. While the current Academic Calendar lists the last day of school as May 29, that date could change depending on how the remainder of the winter season unfolds. To avoid multiple calendar revisions, an updated last day will not be set until we are well past snow season. Please refer to the graphic above for the most up-to-date information on where we stand.

WSD Begins Planning for New School Boundaries WSD Begins Planning for New School Boundaries

The WSD plans to review and update school boundaries. The District’s goal is to ensure schools have enough space for all students, use every building effectively, create more efficient bus routes, and reduce travel times for students.

Elementary, middle, and high school boundaries are all subject to change, and new boundaries could take effect as early as the 2027-28 school year.

To begin the process, the Board of Education approved the purchase of a new software add-on for Frontline Education, the District’s current business operations software, at its November 2025 meeting, following a boundary discussion during the October Board meeting. This tool will help WSD study existing boundaries and explore various options for the future.
