Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
Monday was quite a surprise for all of us as we were greeted with snow in November! Potential snow always causes a little “snow day hope” for BHS students! Some were quite disappointed as they were walking into the building on Monday. We reminded them that it’s a little early for snow days, but a teenager can dream!
Our Batavia High School PTO is looking for support through the Texas Roadhouse Gift Card Sale. Through our Advisories, our students are engaged in a sales competition through November 30th. These gift cards make great gifts for the holiday season. Check out the two links in our “Please Take Note of the Following” section for more information. This is a great way to help our high school PTO earn the funds needed to provide positive experiences for our high school students.
Thursday, November 20th is a great day at BHS! Our wonderful cafeteria staff will be serving our Thanksgiving meal. Even if our students pack lunch every day, many of them opt to purchase the school’s lunch on this day. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up as this is the day that we have to keep the kids from running to the cafeteria!
I also wanted to mention the band and choir winter concerts that are scheduled for December 3rd and 10th. Hopefully, you will get a chance to hear our talented young students.
Enjoy our little warm up for now.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Families,
We definitely got an early surprise of cold weather and snow earlier this week. However, the weekend temps look like they’ll climb back up into the 60 degrees. Our student drivers made it to school Monday morning as the snow began falling, but please keep reminding them to be safe and arrive on time. Thank you.
This may be a bit early, but I will be sending out an email to all of our current juniors next week in regards to the first 65 senior parking spots (next to the school) for the 2026-2027 school year. The parking spots will not be on a first come first serve basis. Mrs. Conner, Mr. Buis, and I are working on guidelines to reward seniors (Class of 2027) for these spots.
Lastly, it was nice to see our students and their Veteran family members be recognized this past Tuesday. I was able to talk with a few of our Veterans that were able to make it during the recognition. Thank you to all of our Veterans that have served. And thank you to all of the students who helped organize this event. Great job!
Thank you, and have a nice weekend.

The FAFSA Application opened October 1!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
