Our Learning Community...
Thank you so much for joining us for our Spring Showcase of Learning on Thursday! It was a joy to see so many families on campus celebrating the incredible work of our students.
The evening was filled with excitement as students proudly shared the books they have been reading, the STEAM projects they have been creating and the writing pieces they have been crafting. From the music and IMPACT movement stations on the blacktop to the beautiful Art Museum in the library featuring our talented Dolphin Artists, every part of the evening highlighted the creativity, hard work, and growth of our students.
You also may have noticed student portfolios displayed in classrooms. This year, our staff has intentionally invested in the use of portfolios as a way to help students build agency and take ownership of their learning. These portfolios give students the opportunity to reflect on their growth, celebrate their accomplishments, and set goals for continued improvement. By regularly reviewing their work and tracking their progress, students are learning to recognize their strengths, identify areas for growth, and take an active role in their educational journey. We will continue to add to our portfolios through the end of the school year and then they will be taken home as a keepsake and a way to memorialize their learning from this school year.
Events like this are so meaningful because they give students the opportunity to showcase their learning and feel proud of all they have accomplished. Your presence and encouragement made the night even more special for them!
Thank you as well to the families who stayed for the Talent Show viewing party and PTA elections. We are grateful for our PTA for having the vision of creating a talent show and then putting together such a fun video of student talent! If you missed it, you can check out the video below!

Earth Day
Did you know that just 15 minutes of reading each day can make a world of difference in your child’s learning journey? Whether you are reading to your child, reading together, or listening to them read aloud, it all counts and it all matters!
Reading at home builds more than just literacy skills. It strengthens vocabulary, improves comprehension, and develops a lifelong love of learning. In fact, children who are read to daily are exposed to 1.4 million more words by the time they start school than children who are not. That kind of language exposure lays a strong foundation for both academic success and confident communication.
Just as importantly, books also help children grow socially by allowing them to step into other people’s experiences, see the world from different perspectives and practice empathy and kindness. Stories have the power to spark cultural awareness, build understanding and nurture the skills that help our students become not only successful learners, but also compassionate human beings.
Here are a few ways to make reading a special part of your routine:
-
Choose a cozy time and space to read together
-
Let your child pick the book (even if it’s the same one again!)
-
Ask questions about the story to boost comprehension
-
Model a love for reading by enjoying your own book nearby
The best part, your family has access to an endless amount of books through the internet and the Public Library. Looking for something new to read? Check out the links below for inspiration...
